Great with a few minor caveats

I wouldn't let the cons necessarily stop you from buying the laptop as I think it performs well and was a very good value. It's just that some of the design issues I see are very "what were they thinking" to me.

Relatively lightweight, fast, beautiful screen, good price for features. So far I'm pretty happy with it

Several design issues: speakers are on BOTTOM of the laptop so sound is always muted, inexplicably the function keys primary functions are not F1, F2, etc. You have to hold down a separate function key and then press F1, F2, etc. Primary functions...

Affordable, Capable, Versatile, and Upgradable!

I'm very happy with my purchase. When I bought it I was in a budget and couldn't afford anything above $500. Fortunately, this computer works up to par (in most tasks) with the 09' Macbook Pro I was sharing with my wife. I plan on upgrading to an SSD...

It’s a nice looking laptop. The body feels well-crafted and sturdy. The Dolby speakers are way above average for a laptop of this price range. To be honest, it has the best sound of any laptop I’ve ever used. It’s a touchscreen, this feature is handier...

4GB of RAM is not enough for this laptop. If you’re using a software like Adobe Premier Elements it will get stuck making just a minute long video. So even for lite video editing you’re going to need a RAM upgrade. The laptop also seems to randomly...

So far so good!

JR service was PERFECT, the laptop is super fast and easy to set up. It is SO much faster than the HP I had for the previous 3 years. Also this Lenovo was not cluttered with a lot of the "store" or manufacturer specific software that bogs down a...

already needs service

Bought it four months ago and it already needs to be sent in for service. Lenovo does not have any service providers for IdeaPad so all service must be done by them. Also, no replacement parts, even going to Lenovo website.

Good mid-priced laptop with touch

I've set up two of these for friends and they perform well. We're finding the touch screen fun and useful. Scrolling web pages is really nice with touch and the Window 8.1 Mail app works well with touch. There is an adjustment period coming from XP or 7.

Great laptop

This is a great laptop at a good price. The keyboard is easy to use for someone like me who is used to a regular PC keyboard. Touch screen works great. Bottom does not get hot like my husbands Toshiba. Love that it has a DVD drive since many of the new...

I got this laptop on Black Friday for $570.00 with 8 gigs of ram it was a great deal. I had to get use to windows 8 took me about a week to get comfortable with it. Having a touch screen is a must have for a laptop with windows 8. The screen is a bit...

Mostly Good

Got the one with 8 GB of ram. The space bar was problematic at first, but seems to have loosened up and seems to be working OK, now. The "a" key, however, is still problematic, although it's getting better. I might not have to return it. Can't believe...
