Hardware Awesome, Upgradable. Software garbage, definitely upgradable.

No other real thoughts, I mean it's a great laptop. Great starting speeds, and everything is interchangeable. I emphasize interchangeable because I had a Dell Inspiron N7010, and all the stupid parts were SOLDERED into the freakin' motherboard. The...

Okay, so the hardware on the laptop is awesome. Not beastly, but you can upgrade that later. The features that come on this laptop you cannot find on others, and for a great price ; I'd upgrade the RAM by adding on 8GB more, upgrade the HDD to either...

There are TWO cons to this laptop. Only two ; 1) Trackpad ; The trackpad is garbage. For gaming, just spend like 30 bucks on a wireless mouse. It's worth it. Not what gave this 4 stars instead of 5 ; 2) WINDOWS 8 ; UGH. Okay, this is the reason this is...

Great value for performance

I have heard some complaints about the touchpad on the machine. I've used it a little, but not enough to notice any of it's potential shortcomings. Either way, you might do well to have a mouse available in your laptop bag.

This computer is a very good value for it's price point. I purchased this for my wife so she and I could play PC games together. For about half the price of my desktop, this notebook is able to keep up with it quite well. Nearly every modern game can...

I have very few gripes about this computer. This model does not come with an optical drive, however I consider the extra graphics card to be a better value anyway. We purchased an external DVD drive for around $30. Like most laptops this one came with...

not mobile graphics

this laptop met or exceeded my expectations in most fields expect that it is a "gaming laptop" that cant even run the simplest of 3d games on battery. heck even my acer aspire one netbook with intel graphics and atom processor could run WOW on battery....

ram, build, keyboard is back-lit, good internal speakers

if its not plugged in you wont even be able to play minecraft...the video cards clock down to 135mhz when on battery from the 790mhz stock on power. this renders the laptop useless for anything besides internet and word processing when on battery

Outrageously good for the price.

It's a great laptop. All of the negatives together still doesn't warrant a reduction from 5/5. I'd advise anyone to buy this laptop and later on wait for SSD prices to drop. The 5400RPM drive isn't painfully slow, but it's noticeable.

GT650M SLI chews most things thrown at it - I can run most games on all high with no issues at all. Some of the more recent games like Planetside 2 require me to tone it down a bit (still gets 40+ fps on high, but I reduce . There are slight...

The 15.6" tag is deceptive. In terms of dimensions of the laptop as a whole, I feel there it can actually carry a 17" screen. There's a thick border all around it. But this is nothing new in the industry. Macbooks and HP laptops have had such borders....

Great for the price

This is a nice laptop overall and am not dissapointed however, i wish either lenovo or nVidia would support the gt650m drivers a little better, but im not going to complain since they are venturing into uncharted waters by having the first sli setup...

Great setup for the price, sli gt650m at 2gig each ; the ram is really fast, i7 is.. well an i7 and you cant get much better ; the harddrive is a 1tera drive, the screen is pretty decent, but coming from a 27" imac i will need some adjusting to get...

There are a few cons about this laptop, however im picky ; The harddrive has been slow for the first day or two, the touch pad is kinda finniky but is decent, the battery lasts about 3 hours which isnt bad, however it could be better if this laptop...

Amazing do it all machine.

This Machine is an awesome gaming machine/multimedia machine but it doesnt come without it flaws. with the cons that i've mentioned, the Pro's are definitely worth it though. highly recommend it if you dont mind some of the aesthetics cons that i listed.

latest i7 quad core processor, dedicated graphics card with Sli, 1080p screen, red backlit keyboard, great sounding speakers, awesome looks and feel. Not too heavy for everything that is in here. All in all, it has a lot of great features for a laptop...

There are a few things that bother me about this laptop ; First of all, the borders along the screen. The top part has like a 2 inch thick border and is much thicker than the rest of the screen which can be a bother and i noticed it right away but when...

lenovo Y500 (59359557)

Even though this laptop has a HDD 5400rpm, Windows 8 still boots and shuts down reasonably quick. Loading times on programs are not that bad but I guess I'm spoiled by SSDs.

Already having a gaming desktop, I also wanted to have a nice gaming laptop for the portability. I decided on the Lenovo Y500 59359557 and never owning a gaming laptop before, I'm impressed ; This laptop has awesome tech for the price. Latest gen i7,...

5400rpm HDD :( Will definitely be swapping it out for a SSD so I opted out of the HDD+SSD model and went for this model instead to do so

Not bad!

can be upgraded to 16gb ram and u can add a M-sata drive in the future if you want. this replaced my g72gx and has worked amazingly! also the second video card can be removed and replaced with(purchased separately) an optical drive,harddrive,battery,...

Back-lit RED Keyboard!! nice crisp screen keyboard has natural action... Absolutely amazing speakers!!!!! top notch for a laptop best ever etc

i cant call this a con really just odd but the mouse pad has a learning curve. it acts really similarly to a mac book pro touch pad in that when you want to right click its actually easier to do a 2 finger press (indicates a right click to the pad)...

Amazing deal.

I feel bad for the people that cant get this laptop its a great bundle for the average to hardcore gamer with all the pros of sleek design and amazing price! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Sleek design, 4gb dual graphics cards means BEAUTIFUL gaming, powerful processor, ultra bay, decent hard drive speed, windows 8 and all for only 1100 dollars! One of the best bargains I've ever snagged ; If you dont want another graphics card you can...

IT IS A FINGER PRINT MAGNET but after that pretty much next to nothing. The trackpad is pretty bad even with updated drivers, but honestly, most people buying this have a good mouse (like me) and if you dont, any mouse will do. The hdd speed is only...

Bang For Your Buck

I was searching for a decent gaming laptop for on-the-go. Tired of lugging a desktop everywhere when I wanted to do some LAN gaming with buddies. Very quick. Runs most modern games at high comfortably (30-40 FPS in open, semi-intensive environments)....

Fast core i7 and hyper threaded ; Nvidia SLI is very powerful ; Large hard drive ; Back-lit keyboard ; Great resolution and bright display

5400 RPM HD ; Windows 8 ; Touchpad ; Bloatware (eww)
