MSI X600

Discrete graphics ; Skinny for a 15.4 inch wide screen

CPU a little weak for a big screen

The MSI offers a terrific keyboard and excellent graphics in its class, but a big screen laptop combined with a single core processor makes for an anemic showing.

MSI X600 Proves Big Screens Can Go With Thin Bodies

The X600 is one hell of a thin and light computer. If it weren't for a poorly positioned number pad, this notebook would be perfect.

Superslim profile and a 15.6-inch LCD (with good graphics) are a great combination. Price includes a free optical drive. Amazing amount of hard drive space. Under five pounds ; TIRED Keypad/keyboard mashup is a horrendous design error. Slight bendiness...

Keypad/keyboard mashup is a horrendous design error. Slight bendiness in the LCD panel. Mostly plastic construction

MSI Wind U90X

This 8.9-inch version of the popular MSI Wind mini-notebook is done in by a poor Linux OS and short battery life.

The MSI Wind U90X' keyboard is the largest and most comfortable of any 8.9-inch mini-notebook on the market, and we like its spacious hard drive. But the SUSE Linux operating system was a mistake, and for that we cannot recommend the U90X over the Acer...

MSI Wind

Out of all the UMPCs available in the market, the MSI Wind is the best deal.

Aggressively priced (under $500). Runs the Intel Atom platform. Big 10-inch screen. Very light. 80GB hard drive. Windows XP Home Edition

Needs a bigger battery. Although pleasant to type on, the keyboard needs to be full-size

MSI Wind Review (Windows XP) Review

The 10-inch MSI Wind mini-notebook has good computing punch and impressive endurance.

Relatively big 10-inch screen, Fast boot time, Long battery life, Comfortable keyboard, One-touch TurboDrive CPU overclocking

Single-bar mouse button, Below-average wireless throughput, Limited tech-support hours and not toll-free

In order to achieve their diminutive size, weight, and price, most mini-notebooks come with compromises: the screen or keyboard is too small, the processor is too slow, or the battery life is too short. That's why the MSI Wind NB is breath of fresh...
