Samsung QX411-W01UB

Roughly a year ago, I reviewed the Samsung QX410-J01 , a new and exciting laptop by a relative outsider. This laptop wowed me with a bevy of cutting-edge features and a stellar design, matched with an aggressive price in the $800 range.

The Samsung QX411-W01UB is extremely affordable while still offering a complete set of connection features, including WiMax and USB 3.0, plus a very sturdy design and long battery life.

This laptop has a finicky clickpad and a heavy, rather wide build.

For a full set of features in a Core i5 laptop in the $600 range, it's extremely hard to beat the Samsung QX411-W01UB, which stands out for its great keyboard and impressive extras.

Samsung QX411-W01

A clicking touchpad works beautifully on the Apple 13-inch (Thunderbolt), but has backfired on every other laptop thus far. The good news is that some of them are getting better, starting with the Samsung QX411-W01. It swapped the Elan-branded clickpad...

Trendy, rugged aluminum design. Powerful Core i5 processor. Switchable graphics with a midrange Nvidia chip. Wireless Display 2.0 and WiMAX. Excellent battery life

Pricier than its peers. Buggy clickpad. Non-removable battery

The premium you pay for the Samsung QX411-W01 mainstream laptop includes top-notch battery life, sturdiest design, and solid gaming performance.

Samsung QX411-W01UB

With the Samsung QX411-W01UB ($699.99 list at Best Buy) Samsung shows off the third generation of its QX series, which features one of the prettiest and sturdiest aluminum designs in the mainstream laptop category. The last two versions had Nvidia...

Trendy, rugged aluminum design. Core i5 processor receives a boost. More inexpensive than the previous version. Equipped with Intel's Wireless Display 2 and WiMax. Excellent battery life

Clickpad is not perfect yet. Non-removable battery. No longer a dual-graphics laptop

The Samsung QX411-W01UB mainstream laptop is cheaper than its predecessorby $200 and cranks out great battery life, but it loses the nVidia graphics subsystem and extra storage space.

"Excellent Laptop for the Price"

More than satisfied with this laptop. Replaced my Sony Vaio that fried in a power surge (moral: always use a surge protector, and unplug your laptop when out of the house). I'm pleasantly surprised at the excellent performance and design of a laptop I...

Great performance and features, beautiful design, great keyboard, fast processor and sufficient memory, wonderful battery life.

Slow hard drive (upgrade to solid state drive and 7 Ultimate), blueish screen (too bright), modest speakers, USB cover is annoying.

Great Laptop!!!!!

Great laptop

Fast Core I5 for the price. The 6GB Memory is awesome, I use it for Dj-ing and have yet to see it lag. Customer Support is awesome

The touchpad is too sensitive, in the middle of typing the cursor will change the location somewhere else so you have to pay attention ; I just disabled the touchpad and it fixed the issue
