Samsung NS310

Can a netbook still be worth £300? Samsung's latest shiny offering tries to teach us a lesson or two.

Backlit keyboard, Attractive interior, Decent keyboard

Expensive, Underpowered

Unimpressive battery life tarnishes a real looker of a netbook

Stylish design ; Good screen ; Portability

Battery life ; Performance

Samsung NS310

The rounded and colourful case of this sleek and shiny Samsung netbook makes it stand out from the pack, as do the backlit keyboard and light weight. But do the compromises Samsung has made to achieve the style and slenderness mean it's all flash and...

Sleek, stylish, shiny design, light weight and a useful backlit keyboard.

Both battery life and performance are disappointing even for an Atom netbook.

Beyond the minimal specs and cramped keyboard it's not that there's much actually wrong with the Samsung NS310 and we do like the design, although it may not appeal to everyone. But to get the good looks and the slim style, Samsung has sacrificed...

A beautifully designed netbook, but battery life isn't great. The NC110 is a better choice for £70 less

Samsung NS310 review

Just because the netbook is fast becoming obsolete doesn't mean its extinct. So while many would-be buyers of a small, cheap compact computer have turned their attention to arguably more suitable tablet PCs – well, almost exclusively the iPad – it...

If you’re wedded to the notion of a small under-powered netbook, the Samsung NS310 offers all the usual features, but with glitzier casework and shorter battery life.

NS310

The NS310 would have been a great netbook 5 years ago, unfortunately, it's not 2007 and it's not a great netbook now. It's an average netbook, but albeit quite expensive for what it is.

Portable, Pretty good Keyboard

Expensive for What it is, Dubious Colour Choice, Terrible Battery for a Netbook

Samsung NS310

Samsung were among the first manufacturers to make netbooks, with some of the best devices on the market. We had high hopes for the Samsung NS310 then, but sadly it's little more than a refreshed Samsung N310. The good Netbooks may have been overtaken...

Overall, the Samsung NS310 is a disappointment. It looks great, and with the netbook form factor having matured, we were hoping it would deliver on all fronts. It's not exactly cheap, however, and performance is poor, making devices like the Asus Eee...

Samsung Netbook NS310

Netbooks continue to be a useful solution; however this one nearly did not get reviewed. It was slow to boot almost as slow to shut down and as for opening any applications, luckily I am known for my determination so read on.

Samsung NS310 netbook

Review Will the tablet kill off the netbook? Probably not. Granted the netbook has never quite fulfilled its promise due to a combination of prices that went up with specifications that didn't. Even so, I've yet to find a fondleslab that can truly...

Slim, light and solid, if not particularly cheap, the NS310 isn’t a bad box of tricks for anyone wanting an ultra-portable mini laptop, but isn’t too worried about battery life. The searchlight-bright screen and glowing keyboard are useful additions to...
