Sony VAIO W (VPCW115XGP) netbook

The Sony VAIO W (VPCW115XGP) is reasonably expensive but it's one of the best looking netbooks on the market, and it's reasonably comfortable to use. ...

1366x768 screen resolution, big touchpad, large palm rest

Only two USB 2.0 ports, only 1GB of RAM, too expensive

We love the screen on the Sony VAIO W and think it's a good netbook overall. However, it needs more RAM and better features to make it worth the high asking price.

Sony Vaio W review

Sony's first pure-blood Netbook may have a solid construction and hi-resolution screen, but expect a significant premium for its standard Atom guts.

High-resolution display; cool color combos; typical high-quality Sony construction and design

Poor battery life; smallish keyboard; loud fan

Attempting to create a premium-priced version of a Netbook, Sony has added an high-definition display to the Vaio W. It's an attractive step-up package, but the internal components are the same as in cheaper models.

Lightweight pack with the usual Vaio quality
