Super Monkey Ball 3D Review

The soundtrack is a great and upbeat eclectic mix of tunes that really add to the tension during some of the more tense scenes, while the sound effects that crescendo as players increase speed, and subsequently pulls the player into this massive sense...

Super Monkey Ball 3D

It's really a shame that Super Monkey Ball 3D is so disappointing, because it does have a lot of charm. The whole thing is themed like the player has uncovered an ancient tome, and a lot of the stages have appropriate stage dressing. The Aladdin track...

Super Monkey Ball 3D

Sega's Super Monkey Ball series rolls onto Nintendo 3DS with all-new play modes and options. As in previous titles, you'll help monkeys encased in transparent spheres roll their way across a variety of mazes. Collect bananas scattered throughout each maze

Limited controls, uninspiring levels... and best played in 2D

On paper, few established games could be more suited to the 3DS than Super Monkey Ball. The task of rolling chimps trapped in transparent balls around floating 3D platforms to collect bananas seemed

Super Monkey Ball 3D

Super Monkey Ball 3D's one enjoyable mode can't compensate for the other two stinkers, making this a disappointing showing for the sphere-bound simians.

Classic Monkey Ball mode looks cool in 3D ; Motion controls are neat and responsive

Bad racing physics ; Dull fighting action ; Only one mode worth playing

Super Monkey Ball 3D (3DS) review

Super Monkey Ball is one of my favourite games ever, so when picking which 3DS launch titles to buy it was a no-brainer. I know the series has been in decline, and know from Banana Blitz that Sega have made some bad decisions with the franchise. But...

This is definitely a return to form for for the franchise. It's not as good as the original game, and much as that was what I was hoping for, it's not a disappointment. For a launch title you certainly can't complain, I just hope it gets the sales it...

Super Monkey Ball 3D

Just like when Nintendo released the Wii, Monkey Ball presents itself as a release title. Is Super Monkey Ball 3D one of the must have games for the 3DS? You'd be bananas not to read on...

Looks good in 3D ; Motion Sensor controls for Monkey Balling ; Lots of levels to complete

Same old same old ; No online play

If you have played any or all of these game types before, you'll probably only check it out to see how it goes in 3D. Please don't get me wrong: What Super Monkey Ball 3D does, it does adequately, but there is simply nothing that puts it in the list...

Anyone who hasn't heard of the Super Monkey Ball series of games must have been living under a rock for the past decade. The franchise is best known for being practically the same game with very minor changes for each instalment, than for the same...
