Halo 4 Review

Halo is to Microsoft what Mario is to Nintendo. The original Halo was, in simplest of terms, a game worthy enough to sell an entire console platform on its own merit. It may not have shown the ingenuity of French or Japanese games, nor was it...

To sum it up, Halo 4 sports a modernised multiplayer component that’s faster and incorporates some cues from contemporary games. It may not please hardcore competitive gamers, but on the other hand that just might get it more mainstream fans. The...

Halo 4

It's four years after the Halo event, and everyone's a Master Chief.

Beautiful graphics. Rich, textural scenery. Great music. Engrossing gameplay. Non-stop action. Matured dialogue and interesting storyline

Not much innovation

Some may dismiss Halo 4 as the same old same old in the Halo franchise but the level of detail in the game, plus a more mature and thoughtful storyline and dialogue, makes Halo 4 the most adult Halo entry in the series.

Halo 4 review: Our new Chief Operating Officer

Halo 4 is adamant about proving its competence and convincing you of its necessity. You don't often see a monolithic franchise putting up a fight for fans, but the departure of Bungie has awakened doubt – enough to incur a fierce response from Halo's...

Engaging plot & campaign ; Superb & varied multiplayer ; Wonderful soundtrack

Covenant getting boring ; Still little weapon variety

This is tough, because Halo 4 epitomises some of the things that plague the games industry today. While there are tweaks, and good ones at that, this isn't the reinvention that many were hoping for, and 343i could be accused of a lack of ingenuity. At...

The original Halo game practically made the Xbox. Master Chief's unmissable escapades have been solid throughout the series' history, steered along smoothly by developer Bungie. The now nearly legendary developer has moved on to pastures new, leaving...

Graphically stunning, Halo gameplay is polished to near perfection

Halo 4 review

The former king of first-person shooters, before that pesky Modern Warfare business came along, hasn't exactly been absent from our Xbox 360s for the last few years, but its blandly iconic hero the Master Chief certainly has. After a two-game rest, the...

Halo 4 is higher-tech than ever before and offers a welcome return to the more open and strategic battlefields of the original Halo, but this start of a new sci-fi shooter trilogy very much plays it safe while also failing to gaze away from its own...

Halo 4 plays it safe when it counts but delivers enough new tricks to show Master Chief's still got it

Halo 4 – overviewMaster Chief is back from the dead and he now faces his biggest challenge yet: ensuring that the Halo series endures. Bungie, the team that created the Halo games, has moved on to p

Its Still Halo

Following the highly publicised change of developer the gaming world was rightly curious as to how one of its biggest selling franchises would fare following the departure of its creators Bungie. Despite now being developed by 343 industries however...
