Philips Viva Airfryer HD9220

The Philips Viva Airfryer is a hot air cooker that offers a healthier alternative to deep fat frying. It's effectively a small fan oven on your worktop.

Small ; Tasty chips ; Built-in timer

Small capacity ; Not very versatile ; Pricey

An impressive, small hot air health cooker that makes tasty, healthy chips… but not much else.

Philips Viva Airfryer HD 9220/20 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Philips Viva Airfryer HD9220/20 is quicker than most other air fryers we've tested, taking just 25 minutes to cook two chicken breasts or a big portion of chips. Speed isn't much good if the food isn't high quality, though, so read our full review...

Philips Air Fryer : Philips HD9220/20 Air Fryer

Unlike the Tefal Actifry that is almost totally for ‘potato type products' this can work with a whole range of products including meats and fish, perhaps the only restriction is that they should be large enough not to fall through the grid.

Apart from the ten sides of the User Guide that are in English that explain the controls with a diagram and adequate text there is a rather nice glossy full colour 68 page receipt book. While I have cooked fish from frozen in the unit and also certain...

Philips Airfryer

The Philips Airfryer marks a new and innovative way of frying chips and other foods, managing without buckets of greasy oils, and using a fan and heating element instead. The result is faster and healthier – but join us after the cut to find out if it...

The Philips Airfryer uses a heating element and a fan, both of which sit above a tray for your food. It offers temperatures of up to 200 degrees, and can cook chips in around 15 minutes – around 10 minutes quicker than an oven. One of the best bits...

On the downside, the Philips Airfryer doesn't produce chips that are up there with the very best. It may be a slightly healthier option, but for taste you simply can't beat a conventional fryer. The Philips Airfryer also takes up a lot of space.

A decent enough option if you're looking to cook food in slightly less time than an oven, the Philips Airfryer is also capable of producing food that's slightly healthier than fried rivals. It's not perfect, however, with food proving a bit dryer than...

Philips Airfryer Black HD9220 - Philips Air Fryer Review

Further, the Philips Airfryer requires just three minutes heat up time which is much quicker than an oven. Once warmed up busy parents can quickly and easily prepare a batch of the best tasting chips in just 12 minutes. In addition, the revolutionary...

I love it!

still needs a little oil, make sure you spray a light coating of oil on the food you are frying, this makes it fry better and taste better. Do not put a lot of oil, just enough to lightly coat the food.

Works without a lot of oil, exterior stays cool, does not heat up the kitchen and is easy to clean. It says the cooking pan is dishwasher safe.

You need to pull the basket out every 5 minutes and shake the product you are baking, to make sure all sides are fried. They make accessories for this but they are way over priced.

I have had the AirFryer for over a year. I use it to cook potato wedges, sausages, breaded chicken etc. It is FANTASTIC! I use a little oil in a bowl to coat the wedges (no need to do this for sausages/breaded chicken etc).you can also add things like...
