JVC DR-MH300: upscaling hard drive recorder

By Richard Arrowsmith (cnet.co.uk)

Versatility ; HDMI connectivity ; advanced editing functions ; accurate recordings ; excellent playback

Unimaginative design ; no integrated Freeview ; poor analogue tuner pictures

JVC's DR-MH3000 is flexible and functional with tonnes of features. If it wasn't for the absence of an integrated Freeview tuner the specification would compete with the class leaders, but if you can find it for under £300 it's well worth your wages

JVC DR-MH300

By (whathomecinemamag.com)

This JVC's predecessor, the DR-MH200, proved a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't that it was a bad deck - far from it - but it made the fundamental error of eschewing an RGB Scart input.

Good connectivity, Decent pictures, Good sound

Difficult to use

If you're sticking to higher-quality material, this JVC will meet your needs admirably
