Microsoft Security Essentials

By Seth Rosenblatt (zdnet.co.uk)

Security Essentials is recommended if you want 'set and forget' security. If you need more robust configuration choices, or don't want to contribute to the cloud, then look elsewhere.

Microsoft Security Essentials

By Erik Larkin (pcworld.ca)

Standalone antivirus product Microsoft Security Essentials has caused a stir, as might be expected when the words "Microsoft" and "free" are involved. Results from tests conducted look good.

As expected, MSE detected 100 percent of the samples in the Wildlist. Most reputable AV apps detect all the Wildlist samples

Microsoft Security Essentials

By Seth Rosenblatt (cnet.com.au)

Microsoft Security Essentials review: Microsoft Security Essentials is recommended for those who want something to set and ignore, but users who want more robust configuration choices or don't want to contribute to the cloud should look elsewhere.

Easy on the system resources • Easy to figure out how to use • Comes pre-configured

Only works on legally licensed Microsoft computers • Can't opt out of contributing to SpyNet
