Intel SSD 525 Review (240GB)

The mSATA SSD space has been heating up over the past year as Ultrabooks and other small form factor devices like Intel's NUC have continued to grow in popularity. While mostly a placeholder until M.2 (formerly NGFF) SSDs show up on the market, mSATA...

Intel SSD 525 Series Full Capacity Roundup - Intel Sweeps mSATA

It has been just under a year since Intel released their 520 Series SSD, which was their second 6 Gb/sec SATA unit. Sporting a SandForce controller, that release helped bridge a high speed storage gap in their product lineup. One year prior, Intel...

would buy another

Low profile and fast. Does what it is intended to do. Safe up to 70°c

Naturally runs warm and has reached 80°c one time before the "temp governor" stepped in and performed some managment. Although it reached this temp, it remained stable... Quote from Intel: "The Intel SSD 525 Series drive has a safety feature for...

Good mSata SSD

I use it as a secondary drive to my Intel 520 SSD. It\'s great to setup a RAID with your primary SSD. If you are running resource intensive programs, you could improve read\/write speed by using Raid 0. Also, great for your primary OS drive if you...

Works In Drobo 5N

I just popped this into my Drobo 5N and it is off and working it's magic. I lean towards Intel for their SSD quality and have never had any regrets ; This drive isn't officially listed on Drobo's site as compatible but I took a gamble and it paid off

None but I will report back if this changes

I'm hoping that somehow an Intel support person picks up on this with an answer. Otherwise, I'll have to say that the failure for the Intel Drive to operate in any kind of normal condition is makes it defective. Newegg has a 30-day return/replace...

So far it works - but only in the right conditions ; As promised by Intel, the drive functions like any other SATA drive. Externally connected, it was immediately and without any problem recognized by both a laptop and an ultrabook, both Win 7....

Seems that some people have reported that these Intel 520/525 SSd's have heating problems ; Another negative: don't count on Intel Tools. This drive from Newegg is NOT a retail product. The Intel Drive software downloaded from the Intel site did not...
