Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD Review

The SSD market is literally saturated with competitors, and with SSDs being one of the "must-have" items these days, it's easier to get overwhelmed with trying to decide which make/model of SSD to go with in your system. Many people initially approach...

Looking at the available technical specifications, the only item missing is the detail on the 3K 25nm Intel MLC NAND flash. This NAND flash is endurance rated for 3,000 program/erase (or P/E) cycles

Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB Na`Vi Edition

Kingston Technology has released Limited Editions of Na'Vi branded products, created especially for the fans of Na'Vi and eSports. The products have been developed in collaboration with the world's multiple champion eSports club Natus Vincere.

Hardware manufacturers regularly use the names and even expertise of gaming heroes to give their products a unique look or special features. We are not sure whether this always works, as the performance and quality of the products matters much more...

fast and easy

This was installed in a rebuild with more RAM and Win 7. Same MB & CPU. It used to take around 2.5 minutes to boot; that went to 45 seconds now. Win 7 has some issues but the hardware is great.

Blue Screen, Memory Dump, Crashes

Would be willing to try a replacement drive if the process is simple. If not, I will not pick one from Kingston this time. Other reviews have convinced me on this aspect.

Much faster than HDD

After few months, started getting a blue screen, memory dump or something. Didn't occur so frequently until the 2nd year of use. Now I get this blue screen almost every day: on good days (perhaps once a week)--none; on some days multiple times just 10...

There's better drives...

don't bother with this drive. i had an ADATA drive in my other computer that's around 2 years old that's still working without any issues.

Very fast drive, made by a 'trusted' manufacturer

not very reliable... this drive only lasted 8 months on a machine that is turned off every night. it was used only for windows files and was kept cool

I thought Kingston brand meant Reliable products??

Not sure if design has changed on SSD but most have a set number of hours they will last. Maybe that's what killed my SSD. Even though it was used very little. Win 7 was running Hibernation/sleep putting pc in a stand by state. Leaving HD's to not...

Dead After less than a year limited use. This was part of a dual boot PC I built for my sister. Running win8 on this SSD Win7 on other HD. They preferred win 7 so only used the win 8 every so often. I told her SSD would be much faster and more reliable...

Dead

Dead.

$%&*...why. oh why did i pick this one?

Died after 2 months ; The performance degradation was apparent after the first week ; Still waiting on responses from Kingston ; Slow write speed even with one large file

Boots faster than a HDD and my Intel X-25V 40GB ; After installing Windows on the Kingston Hyper X3k 120Gb I had a terrible experience with my PC

Rock Steady

I will hopefully get a second one to set a RAID 0 and see how that runs.

I've had this drive for almost 2 years now and it has been nothing but rock steady. It has had 3 fresh installs of windows (I don't upgrade) and still just seems to perform the same. I never fill it up, so it has plenty of room to TRIM and optimize...

The only thing is that it isn't quite as fast as some of the others
