Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD Review

The SSD market is literally saturated with competitors, and with SSDs being one of the "must-have" items these days, it's easier to get overwhelmed with trying to decide which make/model of SSD to go with in your system. Many people initially approach...

Looking at the available technical specifications, the only item missing is the detail on the 3K 25nm Intel MLC NAND flash. This NAND flash is endurance rated for 3,000 program/erase (or P/E) cycles

Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB Na`Vi Edition

Kingston Technology has released Limited Editions of Na'Vi branded products, created especially for the fans of Na'Vi and eSports. The products have been developed in collaboration with the world's multiple champion eSports club Natus Vincere.

Hardware manufacturers regularly use the names and even expertise of gaming heroes to give their products a unique look or special features. We are not sure whether this always works, as the performance and quality of the products matters much more...

Yada Yada

I cannot recommend buying the HyperX 120, they have some flaw in them that makes the write speeds horrifically slow for an SSD. One, I could chalk up to a one-off. Two, a bad batch out of the factory. THREE?? And one being a replacement almost a year...

It is small

I sent one back within less than a year. I should note I bought two around the same time, as well as the same exact model but a 240GB ; Neither of the 120's was ever any good on speeds. They never went above 170 write speeds. A good 7200RPM spinning...

Follow Up

I wanted to follow up on my last negative review as I did not expect to ever get them replaced so easily. 3 eggs do to the fact that it failed prematurely and I lost a large amount of data and work.

Kingston did a full RMA on all of my 6 SSDs that I had in Raid-0 with no problems or questions asked. They were very fast and helpful and understanding of the failure problem. Great warranty department

New life in my old laptop

Fast, and so far reliable. Laptop stays on most the day and i have not had any problems. I have windows 8 running on it. Dell vostro 1710. Loads fast, good read/write speed after 1 year of ownership

Did not buy more space. But gets the job done

Happy

Boot time went from 63 sec. to 23 sec.and shuts down in 5 sec. It so much faster than the WD blue 5400 that was the original. Acer Aspire 7736z- 4809 T4300 2.1GHz 4GB Mem 320GB HDD. Can't say anything bad about something that performs so well. A lot...

Fast, no issues at all

Been using this as my windows boot drive for about 18 months now without a single issue. Went through 3 computers; loaded Windows and Ubuntu probably 10 times during this period. Never a BSOD or hiccup of any kind. Very satisfied!

So much faster than an HDD ; Reliable
