Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 120GB MKNSSDCR120GB-DX

The Mushkin 120GB Chronos Deluxe is another great SSD option for cost-conscious buyers.

Great price/performance ratio. Supports SATA 6G

Older SF-2281 loses speed in random read/writes, uncompressed data

This is shaping up to be a banner year for SSD adoption. The Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S3D7 we reviewed recently won accolades for an excellent price/performance ratio, but the Mushkin 120GB Chronos Deluxe ($105 list) aims to challenge Kingston...

Glad I waited to write a review

The first one failed after a few weeks. Second one failed about 3 months later. First replacement starting showing errors this month. I can only assume the second replacement will fail soon. Already ordered from a different company.

Fast, and not much else

Have had two fail on me within a year. Got replacements, one of the replacements is failing. I even had them on different ports on my mobo just in case

Very good performer, almost lasted the warranty

This drive was my second SSD after using a Gskill Phoenix 60gb. Going from SATA 2 to SATA 3 proved to be a big difference performance wise, however power loss would often cause problems ; Mushkin support was awesome and my new drive is on the way

This lasted me 2.5 years of heavy use before dying suddenly on me. When power would get cut suddenly, windows files would sometimes become corrupt. Again, better than the Gskill was however

This Product is Garbage

Pros? Now I know which company to not order hardware from

I had this drive for less than a month before it started failing. I then had to pay shipping for the RMA, only to receive a drive that failed in less than a week ; I have since installed a Samsung EVO that has worked like a charm ; Newegg should allow...

Updating review

As I have found the ownership experience of this Mushkin product so frustrating and distasteful, I will ensure that all devices I now order for my employer never include any Mushkin hardware. Thanks for the drive failures.

It has a 3 year warranty. Mushkin will replace faulty drives with refurbs quickly. <The refurbs are just as faulty and will soon fail ; This product is great to use when you want to silently screw someone over. Install it as their OS drive and watch...

This drive is not heavy enough to make a decent paper weight ; Since buying this drive back in 4/2012, it has failed 4 times. Failed meaning it is no longer detected or recognized by multiple computers. I have had it replaced by Mushkin 3 times. After...

Fast Drive, thats pretty much all I have for that

I have had this drive for a year and a month and I have had to replace this 2 times

Good drive for a great price.

Bought this drive as well as an optical drive conversion caddy to add a fast boot drive to my MSI laptop and use the standard 7200RPM drive as storage. Boots to the login screen within 6 seconds running Windows 7. Great performance for a reasonable...

For the current price I'd not recommend it. But, as I got it on sale for ~$70, it was a steal

Works like a champ

Would not recommend, controller is bad.

Fast

Died on me 4 separate times. Died twice in the first year, sent in for warranty and died 2 times since then in the last year. I believe the problem is in the controller. Sometimes the drive doesn't even successfully power up
