Need extra storage, maybe this will help?
Small, compact, good software
Gets hot, needs more capacity
This is a reasonable first stab at providing extra notebook storage but it needs more space and to control the heat generated

If your looking for a way to get 4 more gb in a netbook that supports expresscard or just something to use ready boost this is a cheap solution!

Painfully slow random read but i don't have to deal with this since I am usually transferring files in GB form

For a solid state device this is not lightning fast. I got an average write speed of 17Mb/s and an average read of 31Mb/s on a folder with about 800 items per gig. However this is certainly tolerable for backup purposes.
