MLB 12: The Show

MLB 12: The Show is the latest installment within the long running series developed by Sony's San Diego Studio. With new and enhanced modes and gameplay mechanics; the biggest addition for the series and game in question is the support of Sony's newly...

MLB 12: The Show

I didn't get MLB 2K12, so I don't have much to compare MLB 12: The Show to, but I can compare it to my expectations for the game on the platform. The PlayStation Vita offers up a decent chunk of processing power as well as features (such as the...

Solid gameplay ; Full featured ; Stats, features, rosters, it's all there

Character models look too similar ; Gameplay (especially batting) does take getting used to

It would have been easy for Sony to offer up a quick and watered down port of its baseball game for the PlayStation Vita launch, but that isn’t the case here. There is still room for improvement, but baseball fans with Sony’s new portable should pick...

MLB 12 The Show: Working on its batting average

Last year, The Show proved once again that it was the best-available baseball game, but as with all sports games, the question must be asked once again: is there a good reason to get the new one? While not a huge leap forward, the adjustments made this...

Cross-platform play is great, control schemes all work, still the best baseball game ; Cons: Online play is still laggy, commentary hasn’t improved ; Score: 4/5Cancel reply ; Leave a Comment ; Name ; E-mail ; Website ; var RecaptchaOptions = {theme:...

MLB 12: The Show

The Road to the Show, MLB 12's unique take on playing a sports game, allows you to make and play as your own player. I made a first baseman. His name is Joe Random, but as he approaches the plate a far different moniker is called out by the emotionally...

MLB 12 on the Vita is a clean presentation of the baseball experience on the go. It raises the bar for realism a notch with its enhanced physics, but loses what it gains from clumsy animations. There’s a lot of room for improvement, both technically...

MLB 12 The Show

Sony San Diego has consistently produced well-regarded MLB The Show titles that easily outclassed other simulation baseball games. The studio has for years been fighting the stagnation that typically results from a lack of strong competition, and has...

MLB 12 is a sign of a franchise growing stale, a formerly pristine playing field in need of re-sodding. As enjoyable as it still is to play, important elements of the experience aren’t up to par. The future remains murky for now, with Take-Two’s...

MLB 12: The Show Review

Full disclosure, The Show was one of the primary impetuses for my purchase of the Vita. I couldn't resist the notion of playing through my RTTS whether I was home or away.

Best baseball action on the market ; New ball physics are incredible ; Silky smooth animation ; PS3/Vita save transferring

Presentation is somewhat lacking ; Commentary is stale ; Graphics are disappointing ; Sticks make analog controls difficult

Baseball fans now, officially, have good reason to pick up Sony’s impressive new handheld with the Vita release of MLB The Show 12. Sony’s incredible hardball sim hits the portable scene with nearly all its big brother’s bells and whistles. The Show...

MLB 12: The Show Review

Issues aside, MLB 12: The Show demonstrates a bright future for portable baseball games.

Nearly every mode from the console game is included ; Solid commentary and sounds from the crowd ; Interesting pitching and hitting mechanics

Some graphical issues ; Touch controls are not fully utilized ; Choppy online

Though this is the first appearance for the series on the PlayStation Vita, it is a fine introductory effort. While there are a few areas to improve upon, all signs indicate that future iterations of The Show for the Vita should be a joy to play....

MLB 12: The Show Review

If you love baseball, like, really love baseball, then MLB 12: The Show is your game.

MLB 12: The Show is a major step up from the PSP versions. It’s nearly the same game as the console. The touchscreen controls are a nice addition. It’s a smaller, slightly less polished version of the game, but still an awesome baseball experience, and...

MLB 12 The Show Review (PS Vita)

Handheld gaming has never been a viable source for sports gaming. Numerous iterations of Madden has tried and failed on many of the platforms, from the old school Gameboy to the recent 3DS. To many, sports gaming has been nonexistent on handhelds for...
