Poor Quality

Problem with the rating on this product here and on most sites is they are rated by folks very soon after purchase in which case they are 5 star. The problem i have found after my second set is after very limited use they start to malfunction reading...

Worked great very early on.

After limited use this things start skipping and reloading discs.

Waste Of Money

Item is not playing DVDs without skipping and freezing. I have tried 5 different DVDs and they work fine in my other players. Even tried cleaning them. One other unusual thing, the unit does not look refurbished but more like heavily used and abused...

works great needs longer cable between units if using in front and back seats

Got this unit and have been very happy.

The only con I had was the short a/v cable that runs between the units. I'm sure this would be sufficient for a side to side compact car but I ended up ordering a longer cable off of another online retailer and works great!

Great Support

Update to my previous review -- I contacted Philips and even though the unit was out of warranty, they were able to help me diagnose it as a faulty DC power cord, and they offered to send me a new one at no charge. That's fantastic support (at 6:30am...

Died after about 5th Use

Used this infrequently over the course of several months. About the 5th time I used it, after pressing "Play", the playing screen cut out and won't play at all. I guess this is what I get for buying "refurbished". Won't make that mistake again. Since...

Good System, Better Price

Great setup for only $109. There is no battery, so just be aware of that.

Easy to set up, good picture and adequate speakers, remembered where we left off with the DVD when we restarted our trip (most of the time), easy enough for my eight-year-old to work while we were on a trip, no skipping whatsoever even when the roads...

The home power cord only powers the main DVD player, not both, and a few times the DVD player would not remember where we were and started over once we got back in our vehicle -- not a big enough deal to demote an egg on the ratings, though
