Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-450 ATX Power Supply |

The SmartPower 2.0 line is a move back to traditional 80mm fan PSU design, with a twist: It has two 80mm fans in a straight-through, push-pull configuration. The second fan only spins up when necessary in an effort to keep the noise down. Antec's new...

The SmartPower 2.0 is a good choice for use in a quiet system as long as power requirements are not too heavy. Its noise floor is close to that of our low noise reference, the Seasonic S12, and it is considerably cheaper. That said, it cannot compare...

5-6 Years

Six years doesn't seem to bad for a power supply. I was expecting a little better out of Antec though. I played a lot the PC it was running for about a year and then my kids played a lot. Most recently, it has mainly been running as a file server...

Pick a different power supply

I bought about four of these because they were a good price. They all worked fine the first week, but soon started squealing, and caused intermittent problems. All had to be replaced. I contacted the Antec RMA supervisor, Don Macagba, but he is not...

Didn't last long, ended up having to replace them at my cost

Swelled Capacitors, BLOWN Capacitor - spewing smoke...

Has me completely nervous to leave my PCs on when leaving the house. WTH? Is there no built in safety features... what if I wasn't home / using an UPS?

None at this point

Woke up (in looking back it was from the sound of a capacitor exploding that woke me) to a heavy plastic melting smoke choking me ; THANK GOODNESS, I was running an Un-interruptible power supply that became overloaded with whatever this ****** Antec...

5 year shelf life.

Yeah if I had the money I'd sue them.

Well it has modular wires. Heavy

Almost killed me. Shorted out my motherboard, CPU, and graphics card in Nov 2010. 5 years. for an $80 PSU. but a $20 PSU is still rocking. Well they killed the idea that whats heavier must be better. And on testing. it really shocked me. Thankfully the...

9 Months to psu death

At least it didn't fry anything else. Oddly it powers the fans and drives fine, but not the CPU. I guess that means one of the 2 rails is gone. Currently I replaced it with an Ultra Series V psu. It was cheaper and it seems quieter and at least it...

This worked for only 9 months in a basic 939 system single core, 1 7600 nvidia card, 2 drives. It does have a 3 year warranty. I liked the modular cables, though they're extremely long this is good for my antec P180 case

It broke. It cost me a lot at the time, and I don't have a receipt to get the warranty replacement

Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 500W ATX12V SLI Ready Modular Power Supply

Works so well I forget it's there. What a great power supply should be.

Works perfectly. Nothing outstanding, but it is running 3 hard drives and a fairly new sys board and processor with no problems

Decent, at best.

Spent eighty dollars cash at Staples and can't find the receipt. No receipt means the warranty is invalid. Worthless. Broken is broken. /cheer Antec I guess products only break when you have the receipt. No reciept = operator error.

many wrapped cables, modular, nice and thick shielded power cable, fan sensor. Everything that one would need

Purchased in June 2006, dead in July of 2007. Worked fine I supposed for the year I had it. Have a cheap PSU in it now (Powmax) that works just the same. 2 cd drives, Athlon 64 3200+, 4 hard drives (2 SATA, 2 IDE), SB Audigy, Radeon 9800 Pro $20 PSU...
