Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-450 ATX Power Supply | silentpcreview.com

The SmartPower 2.0 line is a move back to traditional 80mm fan PSU design, with a twist: It has two 80mm fans in a straight-through, push-pull configuration. The second fan only spins up when necessary in an effort to keep the noise down. Antec's new...

The SmartPower 2.0 is a good choice for use in a quiet system as long as power requirements are not too heavy. Its noise floor is close to that of our low noise reference, the Seasonic S12, and it is considerably cheaper. That said, it cannot compare...

Pick a different power supply

I bought about four of these because they were a good price. They all worked fine the first week, but soon started squealing, and caused intermittent problems. All had to be replaced. I contacted the Antec RMA supervisor, Don Macagba, but he is not...

Inexpensive

Didn't last long, ended up having to replace them at my cost

None at this point

Woke up (in looking back it was from the sound of a capacitor exploding that woke me) to a heavy plastic melting smoke choking me ; THANK GOODNESS, I was running an Un-interruptible power supply that became overloaded with whatever this ****** Antec...

Yeah if I had the money I'd sue them.

Well it has modular wires. Heavy

Almost killed me. Shorted out my motherboard, CPU, and graphics card in Nov 2010. 5 years. for an $80 PSU. but a $20 PSU is still rocking. Well they killed the idea that whats heavier must be better. And on testing. it really shocked me. Thankfully the...

Lasted about 2 years on a back up computer that was used sparingly. Apparently, others had the same experience. Won't buy it again.

Very Dependable!

Very Dependable!

I've been reading some negative reviews about this product. I have had this in my system for 2 1/2 years without any problems. It powered 3 hard drives and a dvd burner without a glitch. The two fan design ensures sufficient cooling in my ATX case. It...
