Brother MFC-440cn

The Brother MFC-440cn offers all the right features for a small office, but with limited speed and paper handling.

Small size. Network port. Automatic document feeder. Scans and faxes over a network.

Slow. Limited paper capacity.

Service & support

Brother MFC-440cn

Automatic document feeder included; network ready; easy access to ink tanks; media card slots and PictBridge port; color LCD; compact; lots of fax options; inexpensive.

Slow text printing and copying; poor print quality with graphics.

The Brother MFC-440cn has a lot to offer, but it falls short on print quality. We prefer the Canon Pixma MP530 for a small-office environment.

Brother MFC-440CN

The Brother MFC-440CN is a very flexible multifunction printer well suited to light use in a home office.

Extremely easy to use, Good range of functions

Colour balance has bias towards brown, Very slow unless in draft mode, Image sharpness could be better

MFC-440CN Multi-Function Center

Like a techno-toolbox, All-in-One printers fulfill several different needs with one device. The trick, of course, it to ensure that each and every need is fulfilled as well as or better than a dedicate device of singular function can manage. Brother's...

Considering it's a multi-function peripheral, Brother's MFC-440CN comes across as a relative bargain at US$150 or CA$200. However, its multifunctionalism of print, photocopy, fax, PC fax, scan and photo upload/edit aren't particularly new features, nor...

Brother - MFC 440CN

Brother has established a name for itself as a provider of high-quality yet good value solutions in the printer market, both on a consumer and business level. A new range of all-in-one printers aims to continue ...

The Brother MFC 440CN is a capable, good value all-in-one that makes up for slow print speeds and slightly less than perfect photo results with an excellent interface and a host of useful features.

"Junk. Stay away."

This printer is the worst thing I've ever owned. It was so cheap you think you were getting a steal - however this printer is DESIGNED to make you buy ink - which is exactly where your enormous expense will be over time. It looked like an awesome deal...

It prints. It was cheap.

INK HOG - Cleans itself frequently when left on.

Junk

Get another printer.

Good quality printing ; Networkable ; Card reader is built in

If out of one color, you can't print, fax, or scan until that cartridge is replaced ; Cartridges dry out extraordinarily fast ; If by chance, you have this printer in your bedroom, be prepared to be woken in the middle of the night, as that is when it...

Piece of junk

My son owned the version without the Ethernet. He had the same printer problems. Two printers before that he had just the printer version with identical problems. Put your money on a decent laser and forget inkjet printing. All the inexpensive inkjets...

Looks real nice, compact. Packaging was well executed. Worked well over the network as a shared printer

This unit has very poor scanner software. It won't retain the last settings, so every scan is like a new one and the setup must be re-executed. There are no user controls to adequately refine the scan either in 2-tone or color. (My old Microtek V600 is...
