Brother MFC-5440cn

The Brother MFC-5440CN has all the features you probably want in a small all-in-one—except speed.

Prints, scans, faxes from PC. Standalone copier and fax machine. Network connector. Automatic document feeder.

Slow for both business applications and photos. Output quality is below par.

Very good product.would buy another.

excellent product!Works great with linksys wireless.I have three different op. systems in house and they all communicate flawlessly.Just make sure firewall is not locked when sending something to printer

Nice

This is the first Brother printer. I like the way their product line is set up so that you can choose the printer with just the right combo of features. This one is perfect for what our family needs.

Nice package. Fairly easy setup for network config. This is a good basic multi-function. Printer cartridges are easy. I think this is a good choice

Had one small hiccup- it seemed to hang on a print job. It was quickly resolved though. Also had a paper curl up in the output tray. It seems like it's all part of the setup though

cheap

its a good printer for its price, but you get what you pay for (at least in my case). hopefully the new one will last at least a year before i have to replace it.

its cheap, multi-function, networked

it stopped working after 3 weeks. error states that it could be a mechanical problem. had to rma it (at least rma is painless. thanks newegg!!!)

Excellent product, excellent price

You just can't beat all this functionality for the price.

Can't beat the price for the quality. Excellent print quality, network printing works great - no hassle if you have a basic understanding of windows networking, scan quality is great, fax works well, scans are great quality, and COLOR copies

had a hard time trying to print some custom sized CD labels, but no big deal

BEWARE! A Real Stinker!

Beware this thing. I've had mixed results with Brother in the past. Some things they make well and others-- well... its probably not polite to say exactly what I think :) This printer seems to be in the second category. I suspect strongly that it will...

Its cheap

It doesn't work well with network-- haven't tried usb yet but am giving up on network part. Network _does_ work, I can telnet in, check settings, etc. Just almost impossible to get to print. I have a mixed network of many windows and linux machines...

For an relatively inexpensive printer, this one works real well. Easy setup and software install

Excellent, full-featured product with great documentation. Worked out of the box with a very simple installation but plenty of built-in options. The included software for scanning/copying/faxing is quite good and customizable. A very reasonably priced...

The best thing about this printer is that it has a built in network print sewrver. I connected it to my router and it was up and running very quickly. I needed a network fax machine and black printing copyer with a multi sheet feeder. as far as color...
