Review: Brother MFC-6890CDW multifunction device

By James Galbraith (macworld.com)

For those looking for a tabloid-sized multifunction printer, the MFC-6890CDW is a decent option. It has a ton of features and prints good quality office documents.

Large format prints and scans ; multiple connection options ; automatic duplexing ; inexpensive ink-cost per page when using high capacity cartridges

Paper jams and misfeeds were common ; paper trays were difficult to adjust ; prints on Brother's glossy photo paper were unattractive

Connecting directly to the printer over USB 2.0 was easy, as was connecting the printer to the office network via Ethernet. Wireless setup from the printer's onboard controls was a challenge, however. The MFC-6890CDW's built-in controls are less than ...

MFC-6890CDW

By Melissa Riofrio (pcworld.com)

Ledger-size products like Brother's MFC-6890CDW color inkjet multifunction printer let you skip the local print shop and print a wider (literally) range of documents in-house. But as with similar products we've tested (including the HP OfficeJet ...

Very slow on all tests Very expensive to buy

If you want wide-format printing capabilities, you need a machine like the Brother MFC-6890CDW. But this model is so expensive and slow that my enthusiasm for it is lukewarm at best

Brother - MFC-6890CDW All-in-One

By (itreviews.co.uk)

Brother is billing its MFC-6890CDW all-in-one printer as “the world's first compact A3 Inkjet multifunction printer with duplex print” and it is a further example of the company's commitment to producing A3 printers that can be ...

Ultimately it has to be asked whether the advantages of having affordable A3 printing in the home are outweighed by the painfully slow printing process and at best indifferent output quality offered by the MFC-6890CDW.

Well Engineered Overall

By nibble (newegg.com)

Some reviews on the net were negative on the print speed, and the quality of the black ink.

In the past, I have only looked at HP or Canon, but Brother really stepped up to the plate and offered what I really look for in a practical AIO (All-In-One): digital faxing, 11x17 native surface, reasonable pricing. I don't want photo lab quality prints...

If you send a fax via your computer and you want a fax transmission verification, you can only print it out. Brother needs to update this to save the verification to memory to go completely paperless on faxing

Another Quality Brother Product
