Review: Brother MFC-7840W multifunction printer

By Brian Chen (macworld.com)

Capable of printing very good quality text and business graphics at reasonably fast rates, the MFC-7840W is a fine choice for offices that work in a black-and-white world.

Moderately fast ; prints clean, legible text and attractive graphics in black and white ; inexpensive cost per print ; includes wireless networking

Scanning is a bit slow ; scanner software lacks advanced options ; wireless setup is tricky

Setup is a snap. After powering up the machine and installing the toner cartridge, you have three connection options: Ethernet, USB 2.0, or 802.11b/g wireless. The USB connection is plug and play, and when we connected the printer via Ethernet, the ...

Great Printer

By Ted in Connecticut (newegg.com)

I have 2 of these in the office and they both work great for what they are used for. I wouldnt go using it as a high volume machine though. For the price you cant go wrong for a good brandname wireless printer

I have had problems printer certain sized labels on it and sometiems decides to do a manual feed on certain jobs. I think it just might be the users computer though and not the printer but figured I would mention this

Excellent

By N/A (newegg.com)

It lost its wireless connection to my router after the first day, but has been rock solid (never dropped connection) ever since.
