Brother MFC 7860DW

The $299 Brother MFC-7860DW monochrome laser printer is an all-in-one solution for offices that don't generally produce graphics prints, but require a versatile machine that can operate as a standalone fax machine, copier, and scanner in addition to...

Brother makes it easy to network the MFC-7860DW with collaborators, and its modest price tag makes sense for budget-minded shoppers.

Larger offices will feel cramped by the printer's small paper input tray and 10,000-sheet recommended output per month.

The Brother MFC-7860DW and its autodocument feeder, wireless connectivity, and simple installation make it an apt match for small businesses with moderate printing needs.

Brother MFC-7860DW

The MFC-7860DW offers all of the basic MFP features most offices need, starting with printing, scanning, and faxing from a PC as well as working as a standalone copier and fax machine. It also offers a 35-page ADF along with a flatbed, which lets it...

Suitably small for personal use or for a micro office. Ethernet and WiFi. Duplexer. Single-sheet manual feed

No paper handling upgrade options

The Brother MFC-7860DW is small enough to serve as a personal mono laser MFP, but also offers Ethernet and WiFi connections to let it serve as a shared printer in a micro office.

Brother MFC 7860DW

Small businesses and small offices buy low-cost monochrome laser printers instead of inkjet models for two main reasons: Lasers are faster, and they're less expensive to operate. The latter is key: The consumables—that is, the toner cartridges and...

Outstanding text quality ; Automatic duplexing

Subpar copying, scanning ; A bit pricey ; Low monthly duty cycle

This multifunction laser is a good fit for small businesses that need a text-document printer, but its image scanning and copying are subpar.

Brother MFC-7860DW

A compact mono laser multifunction with a good feature set, but can even a fast, duplex SOHO printer like this justify a £300 spend?

Quick print for class ; Duplex print as standard ; Wireless connection with WPS setup

Poor greyscale copying ; Above average running costs ; High purchase price

Brother provides a copy of PaperPort 11SE for document management and OCR, as well as drivers for Windows and OS X. The company also provides support for Linux, through an optional driver download.

Brother MFC-7860DW review

The Brother MFC-7860DW multi-function, monochrome laser printer offers a good range of features and is speedy too. It's expensive, though, and its graphics quality isn't great.

Fast print speed ; Good text quality ; Relatively cheap running costs

Expensive ; Graphics print quality could be better

The Brother MFC-7860DW is, on the whole, a decent multi-function printer. It offers a broad range of features, pumps out pages at a fairly fast pace, and produces good-quality text output. We just wish its graphics output were cleaner.

Brother - MFC-7860DW

Waiting for a new Brother printer to arrive is similar to waiting for a bus - nothing for ages, and then a host appear at the same time. We've already looked at one of the lower-end ...

As the only essential difference between the MFC-7860DW and the MFC-7460DN is the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity, the decision whether to pay the extra £50 ultimately depends on how vital this is for your work. BEST POINT: The arrival of Wi-Fi...

**Scanner will not find your computer if you have wireless and LAN enabled concurrently** I've had this for two years and it's given a fairly good performance. I would choose Brother laser printers over HP and Canon any day. I recently encountered a...

Auto duplex ; easy copying ; sheet feeder

Network problems (resolved) ; Scanner not great for photos ; Duplex printing rather slow ; Software uninstaller does not uninstall software

Great value for a multifunction printer

WOW! What can I say. The MFC-7860DW works very well.Likes(1) Scans all the pages in, then faxes.(2) Toner is (less expensive) than the HP cartridges(3) Crisp, clean printing. And fast, too!(4) Setup was easy and intuitive. Network recognized it right...

Ordering my 4th

Easy to set up and use on a wireless network. Duplex printing and okay scanning speed. No failures in the office in over 3 years of use

Toner life, even high yield, is a little short of what I would like. The offset is that as we transition to a greater paperless footprint we are also printing less

Excellent at a great price

For use in my home for my parttime work. Very pleased with the wireless reach from my living room couch to the office where the machine is.
