Product Specifications

Brother MFC 8300 combines the services of a fax machine, a printer and a copier all in one simple machine that makes a convenient office tool. The MFC 8300 comes with a total machine memory of 2MB, which users can upgrade to 10 MB or 18 MB, and which is one of the forces behind the high performance of the three main functions. Part of that high performance is sharp, clear text and images. To augment a 62-shade grayscale, Brother also provides a 'smoothing' feature for enhanced image resolution on incoming faxes, or outgoing copies and prints. The paper sources used by the machine are a 30-page auto document feeder and a universal 250-sheet paper cassette. The MFC 8300 has a wide range of other features, as well. Among others, Dual Access allows one fax to be scanned into memory even while another is being received. There is an answering machine interface, as well as Call Waiting/ Caller ID and Distinctive Ring Detection (dependent on availability from the phone company). Users can take advantage of fax forwarding, paging, and remote retrieval, which is especially useful in busy office settings. On the processing side, the fax is capable of automatic legal to letter reduction, of scanning up to a width of 8.15 inches, and of delayed transmission. And all faxes come through with a standard resolution of 203x98 lines per inch, though the fine and superfine settings offer resolutions of up to 203x392 lines per inch. The MFC 8300 copier comes equipped with Brother Printing Solutions for Windows, or Apple iMac/G3, and PCL4 emulations.
