One step up in Brother's mono laser multi-function printer (MFP) line from the Brother MFC-8710DW , that I recently reviewed, the Brother MFC-8910DW shares almost all of the same features and specs. However, there's one important addition. Instead of...

Prints, scans, copies, and faxes. Duplex (two-sided) printing and duplex scanning. Ethernet. Wi-Fi

Output quality is no better than par across the board. Speed is similarly acceptable but unimpressive

The Brother MFC-8910DW can scan as well as print in duplex, making it a particularly good choice if you often deal with two sided documents.

After all our years of reviewing multifunction laser printers (and all sorts of other printers, mind you), we sometimes still can't figure out how manufacturers determine which features to include—and how they set prices—for models within same family....

Auto-duplexing ADF ; Good output quality ; Fast ; Easy to set up and use

High purchase price for a monochrome-only laser with this feature set ; Slightly high cost per page ; Relatively low monthly volume rating

A low monthly print volume and a slightly high cost per page reduce this laser’s overall value, but it's otherwise a strong performer for small businesses with moderate output needs.
