This brawny machine will make short work of office chores and do it on the cheap. But it can't shake a few stereotypical inkjet shortcomings.

Very fast ; Good photo prints and text ; Low ink costs ; Excellent scanning features ; Two-year warranty

Draft-mode prints show consistent banding ; Graphics printed on plain paper look faded and gritty

With a massive A3-size scanner platen, excellent performance, decent output, and 500-sheet paper capacity, this inkjet MFP will make short work of office chores and do it on the cheap. But there are flaws.

Brother MFC-J6920DW

The Brother MFC-J6920 inkjet MFP delivers fast speed and excellent paper handling for micro and small offices that need to print and scan at up to tabloid size (11 by 17 inches).

Fast. Can hold 500 sheets of up to tabloid-size (11-by-17) paper. Both scans and prints in duplex (both sides at once)

Slightly sub-par graphics quality

If you need a tabloid-size (11 by 17 inch) multifunction printer (MFP) that's both inexpensive and loaded with features, the Brother MFC-J6920DW may be what you're looking for. The next generation incarnation of the Brother MFC-J6910DW, which is still...

Brother MFC-J6920DW multifunction centre

Brother's high-end inkjet multifunction device offers Wi-Fi, cloud printing, and NFC, though it's not without its problems

Double-sided printing and scanning ; A3 printing and scanning ; Good speed ; Easy Wi-Fi set-up

Paper trays feel flimsy ; NFC printing didn't work ; Photo output had slightly yellow tinge

Brother's top-of-the-line multifunction centre is a good one to consider if you want a Wi-Fi-based printer and scanner that can handle up to A3-sized jobs. It has plenty of cloud features that can come in handy, too. The bad stuff? Its NFC feature...

Brother MFC-J6920DW

An outstanding A3 all-in-one with scan, copy and double-sided printing

Card slot, USB and PictBridge ; 6 fax groups and 100 speed dials ; Twin 250-sheet trays and rear feed slot

Noisy paper feed ; Tray covers awkward for small paper sizes ; Up to 25s pre-processing time

To the left, behind a similar cover, are card sockets for SD and MemoryStick and a USB socket, which also supports PictBridge. Support software includes Nuance PaperPort 12 as well as Brother's own MFL-Pro suite.

Brother MFC-J6920DW

The Brother MFC-J6920 inkjet MFP delivers fast speed and excellent paper handling for micro and small offices that need to print and scan at up to tabloid size (11 by 17 inches).

Setting up the MFC-J6920DW is standard fare. For my tests I connected the printer to a wired network and installed the drivers on a Windows Vista system.

Nice printer

I have used HP for many years and Epson for many years. But I think, Brother You have a new customer. Oh Brother this thing is nice.

Now that I have had a chance to use the printer and install it on several computers I can only state: Nice little printer ; So far it is working with no problems. The auto select bin is really nice. Works smooth

No ground wire. Setup was too easy

Horrible investment

I love how it claims that it prints 20 pgs per minute! That is SOOOO rich! We had this mfc for our office and my supervisor and I timed it. It took 30 - 40 seconds to print one page. It didn't matter if it was a fax coming through or a copy being made....

touch-screen looks cool

slow printing, top loader jams, takes forever to do one thing, too many steps to do a simple function

Ink

Drinks ink like it's going out of style. And since the ink cartridges are small, be prepared to always be out of ink. And it hates ledger 11x17. It cannot figure it out even when you set all three of the control settings.

nice all in one

doesn't like 11x17

Less than expected

We bought it specifically to use it for 11"x 17" color documents. You must take the tray 1 completely out to reset the paper tray for this size paper, & this is cumbersome at best. It prints well. My previous HP printer just required me to lengthened...

Doesn't Jam, Quality, Easy to Set Up, uses 11"x17" paper

Difficult to Use, unable to set up fax though network
