The key difference between the MFC-J5910DW and the Brother MFC-J6510DW is the paper size they can scan. The MFC-J5910DW is limited to scanning up to legal size, rather than tabloid size. The smaller flatbed lets the printer itself be smaller, at 10.2...

Only one paper tray, so you can't keep letter and tabloid size paper loaded at the same time

The Brother MFC-J5910DW prints at tabloid size, scans and faxes even over a network, works as a standalone copier and fax machine, and is both cheap to buy and cheap to run.

Great scanner. High speed copier

Colors appear washed out. Too many steps to get colors right. Paper jams too often. Could not clear error without removing power from the device. No manual feed. Have to remove all paper to print 1 envelope
