The reason I give it TWO STARS: photo-quality printouts

 

I was amazed at the fine quality of the photo printouts this printer was capable of. LCD menu is relatively simple to figure out... with a little practice. Nice sharp printouts for regular use on paper. Software that comes with it is also nice, however...

Great printer for the price.

 

Simple, I like it so much, I've already bought it's newer model (2yrs newer). Even a great machine wears out. So cheap it is NOT worth fixing. Just watch for machines with the same ink cartridge. Remember if you buy this machine you are looking for...

Compact. Doesn't take up much room.

 

I'm looking to unload this printer because it eats up ink like crazy. The machine takes 1 black and 3 color cartridges and it seems like it is always running out of one color or another. Don't buy this machine unless you have MONEY TO BURN on ink...

The worst piece of garbage ever

 

I am going to burn this thing in a pit, and quite happily, because hopefully I will find a better printer, that doens't cause a head ache.

doesn't work with any windows. XP, Vista or 7 ; Every time I try to print something, anything, this thing never works. It can't even function on it's own as photo copier. It freezes, constantly

Do not buy!

 

We bought this product for faxing and minimal copying use. 99% of what we copy is black and white. The problem is that the color ink cartridges dry up in less than a year. It doesn't seem to matter that I don't even use the color option. The machine...

This product works well enough. No better or worse than any others I have tried

Brother should be ashamed of this product. It forces you to buy color cartridges just to be able to print in black and white

I had problems early and very independable.

 

only used about 10 times a year,but after a year are so started having problems with error codes ( room temp to low,unit 48 see manual )no help from brother except take to repair cntr.better stay clear of their products

Sucks ink even when you don't print. Then won't work.

 

I hate the fact that it uses color ink even when you don't print color. This is a money pit. And the fact that you can't use it for anything besides faxing once the color ink is gone puts it at the bottom of my list. I have bought my last brother product.

It faxes and you can use the scanner from the pc

It sucks color ink even when you don't print any thing in color. And once the color ink is gone the only thing you can do is fax. You can not scan or copy in black and white once the ink is gone. Won't print 8.5 x 11 pictures from card

Garbage hardware

 

When it works it has good features

I bought it to scan docs and send faxes. In spite of not using it to print, it regularly indicates ink cartridge empty and locks up so I can't scan to the computer or send faxes. Only way to get it working is to buy new ink cartridges. Rediculous
