Canon USA Powershot S300 Digital Elph Camera Camera

WHAT'S HOT: A brushed-metal stainless steel case, finely designed controls, and 3X zoom lens, all in a pocket-size package, make the PowerShot S300 a small jewel of a camera. An upgrade of the S100, it adds the capability to capture short video clips...

10X zoom and optical image stabilization ; Records high-definition video

Small LCD ; Short battery life

Canon includes an ample, though not outstanding, software bundle. In addition to the capable ArcSoft image editing package, Canon includes an image management utility, a handy image downloader, and the unexpectedly easy-to-use photo stitcher

Canon PowerShot S300 Digital Elph

Canon's tiny Digital Elph proves that good things can come in small packages.

Anyone who travels frequently or who just wants a camera with them at all times should consider the PowerShot S300 Digital Elph. Occasional photographers should find it easy enough to use, yet it's also likely to attract the eye of hard-core digital...

Canon Digital IXUS 300 (AKA. S300 ELPH) Review

First off, names, the Digital IXUS 300 is this cameras European (and SE Asia) name, it is known as the PowerShot S300 Digital ELPH in the US and the IXY Digital 300 in Japan, the cameras are identical apart from the name. The Digital IXUS 300 is a...

Good resolution, fairly sharp images, hardly any chromatic aberrations White balance works well, presets are good Ultra-compact size, light weight Sleek stainless steel body, stylish looks Superb build quality (the best along with Olympus's E-10) Very...

Colours can sometimes seem a little dull (under saturated) "Flat" images may frustrate some users, require digital darkroom work (a contrast setting would have been useful) Poor macro ability Flash doesn't have the power or the cover Edge positioned...

Here's my rating of the Canon Digital IXUS 300 (S300 ELPH): (2 megapixel ultra-compact)

Canon PowerShot S300 Digital ELPH

New to the S300 is a 3X optical zoom, up from 2X on the S100. There's also a new movie mode, with sound recording, which can record as large as 640 x 480. All this in the very small, metal camera that won a lot of people over last year. Is the latest...

Did someone say it was small and stylish ; Very good photo quality ; Super-fast processing speeds ; New 3X zoom ; Movie mode with sound, as large as 640 x 480 ; Good bundle included with camera

Pricey for a 2 Megapixel camera ; Movie recording times too short ; No manual controls

The latest revision of the Digital ELPH continues to impress. While it's still essentially a point-and-shoot camera (and an expensive one at that), the S300 is small on size, big on style, and really easy to use. And that makes it a winner in my book.
