Canon Pixma iP1500

Canon just refreshed its low-end inkjet lineup, replacing the popular i-series printers with four models branded with Pixma logos. We check out the lowest model of this low-end family, the Canon iP1500.

Cheap; decent; fast text printing.

Disappointing graphics and photo print quality; no paper-output tray; no direct print capability.

Whatever savings you get with this printer will be no comfort when you check out its output. Canon's step-up model, the Pixma iP2000, produces better goods and is a far better deal.

Canon PIXMA iP1500

The Canon PIXMA iP1500 photo printer offers surprisingly high-quality photos for a $50 printer.

Low price. Faster than many standard ink jet engines for business applications as well as for photos. Most photo output qualifies as true photo quality.

No memory card slots. No direct printing from cameras. Ink cartridges hold little ink, making the printer suitable only for light-duty printing.
