Canon imageClass D420

The Canon imageClass D420 ($199 direct) would be a killer mono laser MFP at the right price. Unfortunately, the key phrase in that sentence is at the right price. As it is, the D420 is a more than acceptable choice as a personal MFP for printing,...

High quality output, particularly for text. Reasonably fast. Small size. Duplexer for printing on both sides of a page

No automatic document feeder. No fax. No network support

The Canon imageClass D420 is a little pricy for what it delivers, but it offers an attractive balance of speed, output quality, paper handling, and features for a personal MFP.

This laser printer (B&W) is an incredible value.

The Canon D420 laser printer replaced a Lexmark 300 series inkjet. You'd think I miss color, but not at all. My printing needs are occasional documents, no more. If I ever need more, I'll go to a nearby Office Max and do my printing there. The biggest...

Now, when I travel or don't print for a long time, it just works. No hassle with dried printer heads and all sorts of maintenance procedures to get started up again. It's quiet and the output is sharp and more than sufficient for anything I want

No WiFi. I can live with it, but that would have been a nice-to-have

solid for the money

The machine seems built more on a copier format with scanning and printing included. I nearly didn't buy this because of a previous review that said it was incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit--glad I ignored that review.

Installed instantly on Windows 7 64 bit. Up and running immediately after installing the drivers from the CD as per the instructions. Nice solid printer that's fast for the price range. I appreciate the energy saving feature

I wish the paper tray would close with paper installed

Great Product For the Price

I bought this printer from staples when they had a sale for $89, it was a steal for the price. I am very happy with the printing and copying speeds. has built in two sided printing and collate buttons that does all the work for you, all you need to do...

Autmatic duplex printing, automatic collate two pages into one page, fast initial print out(9 Sec), small footprint, quality material

Only Usb connection, no network, or wireless, toner is a little hard to reach/install
