Canon Color ImageCLASS MF-8350Cdn

The Canon Color ImageClass MF8350Cdn color laser multifunction printer offers a tempting purchase price ($699 as of 12/09/2009) and some good features. Like most low-cost machines we've tested, however, it has trade-offs--including pricey black toner...

Automatic duplexer ; Low purchase price

Black toner is expensive

A busy office will like this model's speed and features, but its toner pricing and photo quality are disappointing.

Canon Color imageClass MF8350Cdn

The Canon Color ImageClass MF8350Cdn multi-function printer (MFP), or all-in-one (AIO) if you prefer, delivers high-quality output at exceptionally fast speed—especially considering its price ($699 direct, which includes a 1-year on-site warranty). It...

Fast. Good paper handling. Prints, scans, and faxes over network. Standalone copier and fax

Fax from PC feature requires custom installation. Scanning using a program's scan command requires two trips to the printer

The Canon Color ImageClass MF8350Cdn all-in-one (aka MFP) delivers impressive speed and output quality for a small office or workgroup.

Canon Color ImageClass MF8350Cdn review

The Canon Color ImageClass MF8350Cdn colour laser multifunction printer offers a tempting purchase price and some good features. Like most low-cost machines we've tested, however, it has trade-offs - including pricey black toner and uneven photo quality.

The Canon Color ImageClass MF8350Cdn has better paper handling and expandability than many similarly priced machines. Even with its various shortcomings, it's still a worthy choice for a small office with moderate print volume and basic graphics needs.

Buy Something Else

I've had this printer now for a month, and been holding off on a review hoping I'd come to terms with it's shortcomings. Unfortunately, in an idiotic move, I threw away the box and packaging after opening the thing, since I didn't have space to store...

Fast Startup to first page ; Document Feeder works well for scanning

If first page doesn't jam for no reason ; Horrible color - even after re-calibrating multiple times ; Frequent paper jams ; Network Scan functions NOT AVAILABLE FOR MAC OS X

Great featureset

The energy saver can make it take a little time to "wake up" and start printing.

Set up over the network in less than half an hour, including the ability to do scanning. Works far better than our old canon, and prints color to boot

Starter cartridges are included - buy a full set of cartridge 118 before you start printing in earnest, or at least a new black if you don't do color much

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Frustrating design. Poor value.

Regarding the fact that no features work if one of the toner cartridges is low, this is obviously a programmed roadblock, as there is no reason you should not be able to send an outgoing fax. There is also no reason that you should not be able to...

Low acquisition cost

1. No features work if one of the toner cartridges is low. Toner status has only 3 settings, the middle of which lasts for about 10 pages: "OK, low, replace ; 2. The starter toner cartridges that are included exhaust quickly ; 3. A set of Canon...

Great Machine & Newegg is great source

I have a home office networked with a family desktop pc and several laptops. I connected the printer to my router/hub by ethernet cable. Wireless printer server is available for extra. Installation was easy, mostly automatic. Over all a great machine...

Good quality prints including color (see caveat below in cons), fast 1st page out for laser (all lasers require warm up time), fast printing of additional pages, quiet, ethernet network connection, easy installation, can scan directly to pdf file, no...

Poor documentation, cheap plastic cover needed for legal sized paper, legal size scan/copy by ADF only (platen glass is letter size). Duplex printer/copier (double sided print), but only a simplex (single side) ADF ; Documentation is poor. Index is...

Great Copier, But

The machine copies, scans and prints great. It has very good quality print. But, after about 700 copies (prints) the black Cartridge gave error messages to replace. At first it was an error message after 10 pages. After printing over 750 more good...

Good Printer but Poor Manual

The display and the user manual did not clearly provide the instruction for 2-side copy. It missed the step to start printing. The "OK" button must be pressed to start printing.

Fast Print Time,Sharp tones & colors

Hard To Use
