Canon Pixma iP4700

The Canon Pixma iP4700 color inkjet printer costs just $100 (as of March 29, 2010), but it offers some impressive features for the price--and reasonable ink costs. It would be a solid choice for a student or a busy family.

Inexpensive ; Automatic duplexer and 300-sheet paper capacity ; Economical ink

Limited connectivity ; Front-panel lighting codes are hard to decipher

Print Rich Pictures With Budget-Priced Canon

Canon gives you more than you bargain for in its new iP4700 printer, which offers up speedy cut-and-paste Web software and black-and-white document printing for 100 bucks.

Produces rich, nicely saturated color prints up to 8.5 x 11 inches. More speed than you'd expect for a C-note. Quick document printing, too, if you have occasion to use mere words. Included Easy WebPrint EX software does a nice job of formatting Web...

Looks like a black blob. Overpriced printer ink is still legalized larceny

Canon PIXMA iP4700 Photo Printer

Though the Canon PIXMA iP4700 does have some additional advantages over its predecessors, there is not a lot in terms of performance of this unit that would warrant an upgrade. If you are looking for a new inkjet photo printer that has some good...

Excellent value; Good balance of text, graphics and photo quality; Prints straight from camera via PictBridge; Duplex printing

Canon Pixma iP4700

The Canon Pixma iP4700 may not have the fastest printing speeds, highest black and white resolution or flexible connectivity options. However, its unrivaled color print resolution means it produces crisp, high-quality documents and images every time it...

The Canon Pixma iP4700 offers outstanding color print resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi, which yields clear, crisp prints

The print speeds are relatively slow at less than 10 pages per minute, and the printer doesn’t have wireless printing capability

Despite a few flaws, this is the go-to inkjet printer for photo enthusiasts and home and business users who print photos frequently.

A real piece of crap! I can't wait to get a new OTHER BRAND of printer for my birthday next week!

Very cheap! Purchased at Fry's for only $ I know why

This printer VERY OFTEN, but not always, hangs when trying to print most anything (from pdf files to a simple text from Notepad). No error codes, no flashing orange light. The green light just flashes and lfashe and nothing every prints. Manual say to...

Canon Pixma iP4700

Compared to the older IP4500 this printer is a waste of money.Even the ink tanks are smaller at the same price.

The printer does a head cleaning with every start-up and is using a lot of ink to do so. A set of ink-tanks only lasts 20 pagers if one prints occasional one-off pages. I printed 20 black text pages from MS word this week & all the color ink was gone...

Canon Pixma iP4700

If someone needs an inexpensive printer that can print photos that are clear and accurate in most ways, this is the right printer for you. But you will need to have your own source of photo shop software as the one included is not good and very...

I am an artist and bought the Canon to reproduce images of my artwork & to make greeting cards. This Canon replaces my old Epson Photo Stylus R800 (died after 4 yrs of use). I printed both 4x 6 and 8 1/2x 11 photo prints on the new Canon and the...

Main weakness is the photo image software that Canon provides. The "Easy Photo Print" is extremly limited and cannot be relied on to do the type of photo editing that most people need. Luckily, my Microsoft Digital Image software that came with my...
