Canon PIXMA MG6450

Canon's PIXMA MG6450 is a mid-range multifunction inkjet that performs well enough, but does it offer the features to stand out?

Easy access cartridges ; Separate pigment black ink ; 75mm LCD display

Slow duplex print ; No touch-screen ; Awkward paper trays

There’s a USB socket at the back, but most customers will go for the wireless connection, as this gives direct links to mobile devices, like Android and iOS, and remote print via PIXMA Cloud Link.

A great inkjet MFP, although we'd have expected better paper handling for the price

Canon Pixma MG6450 review - Good for photos; expensive for mono

Canon's latest is good for photo printing, although mono documents can prove expensive

high-quality text and colour output, supports AirPrint, competitive costs for colour printing

Canon Pixma MG6450

Canon's all-in-one inkjet printers are no stranger to PC Pro's A List – the Pixma MG5450 currently resides in the consumer all-in-one top spot – and now the Pixma MG6450 is looking to add another gong to the range's trophy cupboard.

Canon's latest all-in-one inkjet is capable of nippy, top-quality results, even if it's not as feature-packed as its predecessor

Went wrong within a year

I bought this printer to replace my old Canon Pixma which had been totally reliable for 9 or 10 years. I found it easy to set up, and producing good quality copies (though very heavy on ink). After only a few months it developed the irritating fault...

Bought this printer in July to replace my old HP. Printing was acceptable and WiFi worked well. Main problem was not picking up the paper and kept getting warning to slide out tray and push back despite changing paper and ensuring it was in correctly....

Poor WiFi reception

Replacing an Epson wireless printer with this one I found it was worse at picking up WiFi than the Epson, which worked fine in the same location. The printing was fine but very slow and wouldn't print photographs. In the end I found the problem was the...
