Canon Pixma MG3120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One Review: A Nice Bargain Sabotaged by Consumables Costs

The $80 (as of February 3, 2012) Canon Pixma MG3120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One is one of the least-expensive color inkjet multifunction printers you can find that offers paper-saving automatic duplex printing. It also prints reasonably quickly,...

Nice output quality ; Automatic duplexing is standard

Very expensive black ink

Pricey black ink spoils the deal with this otherwise excellent budget MFP for home or school use.

Canon Pixma MG3120

One thing's for sure about Canon: When it comes to entry-level all-in-one (AIO) photo printers, you can't accuse the company of not providing you enough choices. That's clear from the early-2012 release of three new low-cost models: the $69.99 Pixma...

Exceptionally low price for an all-in-one inkjet ; Acceptable performance for the money ; Good copy, scan quality

No wired Ethernet connectivity ; No support for memory cards ; High cost per page

This is one of the lowest-cost all-in-one inkjets you can buy, and for the price you get good-looking documents (albeit, a bit slowly). If printing photos is paramount, however, there are simply better Pixma models out there.

Canon Pixma MG3120

The Canon Pixma MG3120 is an all-in-one inkjet printer that gives you overall good copy and scan quality. It does lack in some features in order to keep the unit's cost low, like no memory card support or an Ethernet port. But if you're in the market...

Great price for a quality printer with decent options.

There is a new firmware update as of 4/13/2012 that enables this printer to be airprint capable. A link to the firmware update is below. The update is easy and quick.

Airprint capable after firmware update from Canon ; Easy setup ; Automatic duplex printing ; Great print quality ; Affordable price @ 59.99 at Best Buy on 4/14/2012

Duplex printing is slow ; expensive ink

If you're in the market and don't get this one, SORRY!

well I didn't get to explain EVERYTHING above, so...

1: Decently fast (faster than usual inkjets) ; 2: Photo quality is SUPERB ; 3: Wireless setup is a breeze if you just follow the directions carefully ; 4: By 4x250ml INK REFILL KIT to get 30-40 ink refills ; 5: Duplexing ; 6: Automatic Printhead ALIGNMENT

1: Ink cartridge replacements are expensive, Read #4 in PRO ; 2: May not be the fastest printer out there, but surprisingly fast to me for the cost ; 3: Really can't think of anything else
