Canon Pixma MP100 review

The Canon Pixma MP180 is the more fully featured version of the entry-level Pixma MP160 . The two printers share the same basic engine, which means their print speeds and print quality are identical. For a mere $10 more, though, the MP180 offers tons...

Inexpensive; excellent prints; PictBridge port; media card reader; relatively cheap printing costs; photo index-sheet capability; two-line LCD for navigating the menu.

Subpar scanning.

The Canon Pixma MP180 all-in-one printer costs only $10 more than the entry-level MP160 and offers many more features. Skip the MP160 and go for the MP180.

Office users searching for a bargain should snap this up. The PIXMA MP180's text output is excellent for the price, and scan facilities aren't bad either. However, if you're after graphics output that takes the breath away, look elsewhere.

Competitive price, Excellent text performance, Good scan feature

Struggled to inject vibrancy into graphical prints

Canon Pixma MP180 multifunction photo printer

The Canon Pixma MP180 has no colour LCD, with only a mono display on which to edit any preferences not covered by dedicated hardware buttons. The Canon Pixma MP180 does at least have a memory card slot along with PictBridge support and caters for any...

Although the MP180 is reasonably priced, it suffers from slanted documents and slow output of prints.

Canon Pixma MP180 review

Canon's Pixma MP180 has a two-line black- and-white LCD screen.

For just £56 including VAT we didn't expect a great deal, but the MP180's menu and control system left us frustrated and unimpressed. It prints and scans some documents quickly, but the results aren't always good and the quality of text documents...

Canon Pixma MP180

The Canon Pixma MP180 all-in-one printer costs only AU$20 more than the entry-level MP160 and offers many more features. Skip the MP160 and go for the MP180.

Inexpensive ; Excellent prints ; PictBridge port ; Media card reader ; Relatively cheap printing costs ; Photo index-sheet capability ; Two-line LCD for navigating the menu

Subpar scanning

With all these extra features and the same excellent print quality as the MP160 (and unfortunately, the same subpar scan quality as the MP160, as well), we recommend you pay the extra AU$20 for the MP180.

Capable of reproducing good photos, but it's slow, a bit expensive to run and has a poor scanner.

Canon PIXMA MP180 1448B002 Up to 22 ppm (as fast as 2.8 seconds per page) 4800 x 1200 dpi InkJet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer

No ethernet port for networking. But I cannot hold that against it as I knew that going in.

Price. Prints, copies, and scans very well. More than adequate for my uses. Easy to set up. Software installation doesn't install useless stuff on PC
