Canon Pixma MP490

Canon's Pixma MP490 color inkjet multifunction printer (MFP) has a superlow price ($100 at this writing) and a simple-to-use design that should appeal to home and student users. If you print a lot, however, look elsewhere, as its ink costs are high.

Inexpensive; excellent documentation ; Simple, intuitive control panel

Garish skin tones; expensive black ink ; Poor paper tray design

It's a surprisingly decent machine for the price, but its high black ink costs are the tradeoff.

Great Printer for Average user

Really an exceptional buy for the medium user, student, at home use. It's quiet and good looking as well. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the top end, but hey really how often do you really need them? The cost of the cartridges is...

EASY... I mean mullet proof installation, "IF" you read and follow their instructions ; Printing, Scanning and copying are good quality, fast and easy ; MAIN Pro... only needs 2 print cartridges! The 560 needs 5

Great photo quality

Prints quietly and effectively. Just took it out of box and set it up. Printed a few photo's on photo quality paper. You could never tell that I did not bring it to a photo lab. Have yet to test scanner and copier
