Canon Pixma MX410: Wi-Fi and ADF Come Cheaply, but Not Black Ink

Canon's Pixma MX410 color inkjet multifunction printer offers a classic set of budget tradeoffs. For a low $100 purchase price (as of 06/07/2011), you get Wi-Fi connectivity, an automatic document feeder (ADF) with manual two-sided scanning, and superb...

No duplexing support on the Mac ; Automatic document feeder (ADF) ; Superior text and monochrome graphics

Pricey black ink

Canon Pixma MX410

The Canon Pixma MX410 is a worthwhile all-in-one solution for people who need an output solution for intermittent monthly use to print out boarding passes, office documents, or occasional snapshot photos. Its dual-ink cartridge bay limits its output...

Inexpensive; includes auto-document feeder; robust software suite; 1.8-inch LCD; Wi-Fi.

Lacks media card reader; slow output performance.

The Canon Pixma MX410 isn't the fastest printer in its image class, but its auto-document feeder, wireless connectivity, and the comprehensive Canon software suite earn this multifunction printer our recommendation for light to moderate monthly output.

"ink runs out quickly. cannot use scanner if out of ink."

at first it looked a wonderful product. Obviously, since the product is new, I was not able to research it very well. I wish there would be a way to return the product to BBuy

wireless printing

runs out of ink quickly

"Good printer for the price."

I bought this printer for school work mostly. At $79 is not bad at all. It took me less then 40 mins to set this printer up on 4 computers and my phone. The install is not idiot proof so some basic computer knowledge is necessary. Yet it was fairly...

Wireless (b,g,n)

Like any other "Ink Jet" there is the cost of the cartiges. They normally run for 24 bucks per cartige. In my opinion not to expensive.

"Excellent low-cost printer!"

I am extremely pleased with this product. I am a freelance writer working from home, and I don't have to print large-scale jobs. This machine fits my needs perfectly. It is small and compact, fitting nicely into a small space and folding up when not in...

Print quality is good

Print speed is rather slow

"Didn't work for me. What a waste of time."

What a complete waste of time.

None for me

I installed the MX410. It was a brief and it worked nicely but after a couple of days I got a communication error was able to use the printer. I got a new one. I attempted to reinstall the printer and this time my OS didn't even detect the printer.

"Great printer for light, occasional use!!"

I rated this machine for what it is. For under $100, I wasn't expecting a speed demon. I don't need one for occasional use. The XL black cartridge can do an estimated 401 pages of mixed text and graphics set at the default mode which is the normal...

*Actually, the ink is a very good value. Always buy the extra large cartridges. If you don't use lots of color, buy the standard size and set your machine to print gray-scale only to save on color for only when you need it. Also, set it for fast printin

*LCD screen is small and not back-lit. Not a major thing, but it would have been nice to have been lit.

Good All in one but only for light printing

Printer performs as it is supposed to, which is an AIO wireless printer, scanner, copier with an ADF. However, it's heavy on ink and is for light printing only and software and LCD display menus are not the easiest to navigate. Handy to have for...

ADF for copying and scanning ; Wireless printing ; Wireless scanning

Very heavy on ink ; Software is fiddly ; LCD menu is not easy to navigate

no wireless printing for Mac and iPhones

pointless buy if you already have wired printers and use macs

prints okay on USB (Mac) and wireless on windows laptop

no wireless printing for Macs and iPhones -may just be a setup problem but I've tried all variations. No real help from Canon either
