Excellent print quality for both documents and photos, every feature you'll need in a small office printer is built in

Touch-based controls are pointless - a larger touchscreen LCD would have been a better inclusion

Canon's PIXMA MX885 is the company's best inkjet printer, and arguably the most appropriate for a small business or busy home office. Even if it's not a feature you'll use often, the inclusion of a double-sided automatic document feeder makes scanning...

Canon PIXMA MX885 review

Canon's MX885 is the latest in a line of strikingly attractive printers in Canon's PIXMA range. It's a fairly big, glossy black device with a large colour screen and a spattering of blue status LEDs. The control panel seems to have a blank 4x4 grid of...

It's not the cheapest MFP to buy or run, but if you don't mind the premium, the MX885 combines great looks, a great specification and great results

Canon Pixma MX885 review

The Canon Pixma MX885 is an impressive all-in-one inkjet printer, producing great results very quickly. It's fairly expensive to run, though.

Fast print speeds ; Good results ; Supports duplex printing ; Large screen ; Straightforward menus

Expensive to run in the long term ; Duplex printing is rather slow

The Canon Pixma MX885 is an excellent all-in-one printer. It's easy to use and produces impressive results very quickly. Its high running costs are something to bear in mind, though.

Canon PIXMA MX885

A well-designed, modern, home and small office all-in-one inkjet with full duplex copying and printing.

Full duplex copying ; Memory card and Pictbridge sockets ; Below average running costs

Slow duplex print and copy ; Fingerprint-loving gloss black case

This is a very good example of an effective multifunction printer. As well as the core functions of print, copy and scan, it can handle files from memory cards, cameras and USB memory sticks and has a good set of fax functions to send and receive...

Canon Pixma MX885 review

The Canon Pixma MX885 has every feature we'd hope to find in an office printer and its reasonable price should be attractive to small businesses. The ink costs aren't anything special, but this isn't a surprise. Canon's top small-business inkjet...

Canon Pixma MX885

Canon's small office multifunction is something of a bargain in the features stakes, although there are a few trade-offs in utility that make that possible.

Highly functional device at a low price ; Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB ; Full duplexing

Slow printing ; Control interface looks and feels cheap

The MX885 represents great value for the SOHO multifunction buyer. We could wish it was faster, and that the exact per-page pricing was easier to discern exactly, but those quirks aside, it's an excellent all-round printer offering.

Canon Pixma MX885

Canon's reputation in imaging is one of the best so we were very keen to see what it could do with a consumer priced all-in-one.

Photo printing; paper handling

Images on plain paper

The Canon Pixma MX885 delivers excellent photo printing and very good document printing, and is definitely worth shortlisting if you’re in the market for a multifunction.

Canon Pixma MX885

Canon's small office flagship gets an upgrade, with a new interface and faster print speeds

Produces high-quality results at good speeds, but we're not convinced that justifies the running costs

Versatility at its best

This multifunction printer is near perfect. Installation went without a hitch. It can do EVERYTHING with all kinds of paper but the basic stuff works easily with a simple interface.I'm a fan.
