Canon Pixma Pro9000

When most people talk about printers, they talk about them in terms of printing documents and Web pages, but with more and more high-resolution cameras around, it's becoming more common for people to print large photos at home. If you want those big...

Excellent color and black-and-white prints; fast printing; accepts paper sizes up to 13x19 inches; can clean nozzles for subset of colors.

Dye prints don't last as long as those made with pigment inks; large footprint; no card reader.

If you don't mind the shorter display life of dye-based prints or the paper choices offered by Canon, the Pixma Pro9000 makes an excellent choice for a medium-format inkjet printer.

Canon Pro9000

The Canon i9900 has been updated by two new professional photo printers: the ten-color PIXMA Pro9500 and the eight color PIXMA Pro9000. They are the first PIXMA printers to earn the Pro designation. Both the PIXMA Pro9500 - which utilizes long-lasting,...

Both the Pro9500 and Pro9000 printers are bundled with Canon's Easy-PhotoPrint Pro software. Easy-PhotoPrint Pro is a plug-in software program for Adobe Photoshop CS and Photoshop CS2, and Canon Digital Photo Pro (DPP) version 2.1, which permits...

Top-quality color photos and graphics. Maximum 13- by 19-inch paper size. Choice of fine-art papers available

Relatively poor text quality

The Canon Pixma Pro9000 delivers top-quality photos and can use Canon's 13- by 19-inch fine-art papers to print large, professional-looking output suitable for framing.

Pro-quality photo printer

The Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II is designed mostly for photo printing and gets good reviews in that regard. Canon says the Mark II's print engine is three times faster than the original Pro9000, but reviewers are divided on how accurate that is. Some...

Economical per-print value, excellent image quality using eight different inks, large-format printer

Conflicting opinions on speed, not ideal for anything other than photos

Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II Review

Having just reviewed Canon's latest pigment-ink professional printing wonder, the Pixma Pro9500 Mark II, I was intrigued by the fact that Canon also recently updated the step-down model in this series – the Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II

Exceptional color prints ; Prints on a wide range of media ; Setup is a snap ; Easy on the wallet

Black-and-whites can't touch the Pro9500 ; No option for roll-feed media

With vibrant color output, better speed than the Pro9500, and a much lower overall cost of operation, plus the same flexibility in media types and output options, the Pro9000 Mark II might just be the ideal entry point for amateur artists looking to...

Canon Pro9000 Mark II printer

From the outside the 9000 Mark II and its brother, the also improved 9500 Mark II, are almost identical to each other, just some differences in the gray color scheme. The Pro9000 prints at resolutions up to 4800x2400dpi on standard paper sizes ranging...

For the craftsman who loves to make big, beautiful, prints - the Canon Pro9000 Mark II is the tool you are looking for

Canon Pro9000 Mark II Refines a Classic

Canon introduced two Mark II printers in March. The $850 Pro9500 Mark II uses 10 pigment inks and the $500 Pro9000 Mark II uses eight dye inks. Both make 13x19-inch prints.

The Canon Pro9000 Mark II is a faster Pro9000. Its dyes deliver a brilliant range of color that, under proper storage, will outlive you (which is all that counts). And yet the printer is capable of subtle variations in tone and color that, printed on a...

Borderless prints up to 13″×19″, and several improvements on its predecessor

Simple to set up and install; Decent color accuracy

Very slow print speed; Finer details sometimes get lost

The Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II had good performance overall; it did well in our tests for color accuracy, color gamut and the density of the blacks. It's not the fastest printer on the block, though, and the Epson R1900 did score somewhat higher in...

Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II

It is fairly flexible, though; the main paper tray at the back of the printer can hold up to 150 sheets of plain paper,. There are two additional ways to feed the paper in: a straight-through paper path at the back and an additional paper input on the...
