Crap Printer, Worse Support

By john satterfield (cnet.com) Read the full review

If you make the mistake of buying this printer, you will pay for it in tears.

None whatsoever

Burns through very expensive toner cartridges at an incredible rate. The browser-based Toolbox control panel has now stopped functioning and I have been unable to revive it by doing a clean uninstall/reinstall. Contacted HP support and their only sugges

Extremely high price per page!

By HPGuruPDX (cnet.com) Read the full review

If you want performance without the high price that HP consumables require, consider the Lexmark. I am junking my HP 2500, which has quit working after six years of use, and thousands of dollars in toners and drums. Sure I'll have to buy toners online,...

Like most HP products, the 2550L is attractive, well built, and well supported by HP

The price per page is about 16 times that of a Lexmark C544N (30,000 pages per toner vs. 4,000), which can be bought online for as little as $275, as of this writing. The Lexmark offers 1200 dpi, versus 600 dpi for the HP, and 25 ppm

HP Color Laserjet 2550L Printer

By Paul Jasper (pcworld.com)

The HP Color LaserJet 2550L is so compact, you can hardly believe it's a color laser printer. The clever carousel design squeezes everything into a surprisingly small space.

Text quality was uninspiring. Most characters looked too heavy and larger letters appeared blotchy. Color images seemed a bit dark overall, but sharp

HP Color LaserJet 2550L

By Paul Jasper (pcworld.com)

Ultracompact personal color laser printer has a pleasantly low price but isn't a top performer.

Sleek and low-priced, the LaserJet 2550L seems promising for small offices, but its speed and print quality aren't stellar.

HP Color LaserJet 2550L

By Kristina Blachere (cnet.com)

Review: Priced at less than $500, the HP Color LaserJet 2550L is a real bargain. Although it prints slowly and boasts little in the way of initial connectivity or paper capacity, the HP Color LaserJet 2550L's output is impressive. Given that you can...

Affordable; very good print quality; no-nonsense design and interface; highly expandable

Slow color print speeds; base model has low paper capacity; no LCD on control panel

This color printer has a bare-bones configuration and slow color print speeds, but it is extremely affordable, offers great print quality, and can be upgraded as your printing needs change.

HP Color LaserJet 2550L

By (pcmag.com)

The HP Color LaserJet 2550L isn't just the lowest-priced color laser on the planet (for the moment at least); it's the first color laser that costs the same as HP's least-expensive business ink jets. That alone makes the printer interesting....

Better output quality than most color lasers of any price. Paper tray options for up to 875 sheets

Slow. Relatively high monochrome cost per page

HP CP1215 Color LaserJet Printer Review

By Josh Norem (computershopper.com)

The HP CP1215 is inexpensive for a color laser printer—and that's reflected in its lightweight feature set and somewhat slow print speeds. This printer is great for basic text and graphic duties, but not suited for big workloads or heavy photo printing.

Relatively small and light; inexpensive; easy setup

No built-in networking; manual duplexing; only one paper tray; slow print speeds

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

HP Color LaserJet 2550L Laser Printer Review

By John Chow (thetechzone.com)

If you're in the market for a low cost color laser printer then you'll want to take a look at the HP Color LaserJet 2550L. The HP 2550L is part of a new breed of low cost color laser printers that is making it easier to move up from inkjet printers.

Small footprint, Good print quality, Works with a wide range of printing media

Consumables cost more than the printer itself, Long spool up time

The 2550L has a fairly long spool up cycle. When making a test print, it took about 30 seconds to rev up and about 4 seconds to print. On multi-page jobs, it took up to a minute to cycle through its toner and imaging system before it started printing....

The printer is quite noisy when printing - which was one of the reason why we installed it in the closet. The long spool up time pretty much kills the rated printer speed of 20 page per minute for black and 4 page per minute for color. Once we added in...
