Dell 1130n Laser Printer: Not Very Cost-Effective

Dell has been manufacturing printers for quite some time now and just last month, they came out with the 1130n along with a barrage of other printers. The 1130n is a monochromatic, network ready printer, specifically targeted towards small and medium...

While the printing speed and quality are very decent, the 1130n is expensive at Rs. 16,000. A couple of other options include the Samsung ML-2571N that is priced at Rs. 12,500 MRP or an even cheaper Xerox-Phaser 3124 which will set you back by only Rs....

Dell 1130n

The Dell 1130n delivers the basic features we'd expect from a budget monochrome laser printer; it includes wired networking through the Ethernet port on the back, an ample 250-sheet paper tray, and a separate one-sheet manual feed tray for irregular...

The Dell 1130n's low-profile design, basic setup procedure, and decent output results make it a strong contender to be your next light-duty office printer.

The 1130n's graphical output quality needs improvement, and it doesn't include Wi-Fi connectivity.

Although it performed adequately in our print speed tests, this basic monochrome laser printer is outgunned by competitive devices with wireless networking for the same price.

Dell 1130n Laser Printer

The Dell 1130n Laser Printer ($179 direct) is the sort of product that can do the job it's meant for, but isn't anything to get excited about. It offers reasonable speed for a mono laser, for example, but it's significantly slower than others in its...

Small enough for a personal printer. Ethernet connector for sharing on a network

Although good enough for most business purposes, output quality is a touch below par across the board

The Dell 1130n Laser Printer is small enough to share a desk with as a personal printer, but includes an Ethernet connector for easy sharing in a micro-office.

Dell 1130 Laser Printer

Clearly designed as a personal printer for any size office, the Dell 1130 Laser Printer ($119.99 direct) is small enough to share a desk with and delivers an appropriate level of speed, output quality, and paper handling. Although it doesn't offer...

Low cost. Suitably small for a personal printer

Although output quality is good enough for most business purposes, it's a touch below par overall

Meant primarily as a mono laser personal printer for any size office, the Dell 1130 Laser Printer is small enough to comfortably share a desk with.

Dell 1130n

The 1130n is a decent monochrome laser printer for small offices where cost is a concern, but it doesn't offer enough features to set it apart from its competition.

Inexpensive for a networkable laser model; built-in Ethernet port; good-quality output

Occasional paper jams; problematic paper handling; consumables are costlier than comparable printers

After considering most of the major features (price, quality of output, speed, and cost of consumables), the Samsung ML-2525W reigns king of the budget monochrome lasers we've tested of late. The Dell 1130n is nothing to sniff at, as the price is low...

Looking for a simple laser?

Impressive speeds and quality, easy to set up and use

Dell’s 1130 is a solid, no-nonsense laserjet that offers impressive speeds and impressive quality. Though there aren’t a lot of additional features here for the modern user, those that would require them are likely to go for an MFD anyway so if this is...

Dell 1130 review

The Dell 1130 monochrome laser printer is extremely neat and compact, and produces excellent results with both text and graphics. It's also reasonably cheap to run. We like it.

Clean and crisp text prints ; Graphics output is refreshingly free of banding ; Relatively cheap to run

No display ; No Wi-Fi

Dell 1130 - Mono Laser

A compact and affordable mono laser printer for home office and personal use.

The single-piece drum and toner cartridge slots in from the front, once you've folded down the front cover. It's the work of seconds to slot in a replacement. Software is pretty minimal, with a toner management utility more to the benefit of Dell than...

Dell 1130n Laser Printer review

Dell's smart-looking mono laser is actually a rebadged Samsung ML-2580n with customised firmware. We've been impressed by Samsung's recent mono lasers, so Dell has picked a good starting point with the 1130n. The little printer itself is simple, with a...

The 1130n is unquestionably an excellent printer, but Samsung's original version is cheaper and costs less to run.
