Fast time-to-print for a single colour page, outstanding print quality

Doesn't support Ethernet, expensive running costs

The Epson Aculaser C1100 is a good choice for low-volume colour printing, with best of breed output quality, providing you don't mind the slightly higher than average running costs and slow colour output.

Epson Aculaser C1100 review

With its boxy looks and unremitting noise, the AcuLaser doesn't make the world's best first impression. It's designed for small workgroups who occasionally need colour printing rather than single users or home offices, and it shows.

A bit of a chunker, but very fast and good for small workgroups.

Epson Aculaser C1100 - Colour Laser Printer

The Epson Aculaser C1100 is a surprisingly fast carousel based colour laser printer, but how does it measure up to recent competition.

The Aculaser C1100 is a well put-together colour laser at a competitive asking price. As an extra incentive, if you buy one before 31st March, Epson will throw in a Stylus C66 ink-jet for free.

Epson's latest colour laser may look ungainly, but Dave Stevenson finds plenty to like in other areas

Not particularly handsome, but reasonable value for workgroups who won't be printing much colour

Painfully slow with colour, and the quality disappoints

Other colour documents were similarly slow, and this disappointment was heightened when we saw the quality of the output. Blacks were deep enough, but visible dithering and substandard image reproduction put the Epson at the foot of the table for...

The Macworld team take a look at six different colour laser printers, with the aim of finding one that offers good performance both for photography and business purposes; and a reasonable running cost.

Epson AcuLaser C1100

Compared to some of the more lightweight models around, you can tell the Epson really means business as you struggle to lift all 28kg of printer out of its box. It's two to four inches larger in every direction than many other desktop colour lasers

Good print speed, Decent supplied software

Expensive to replace drum, Bulky

Fast, vivid colour, but expensive. It's bulky, too

overclocking must have!

Buy them! you'll need 2 packs to get your entire Motherboard if your running a standard ATX

I have a mid range Asus MoBo and an AMD 1090t, before buying these I couldn't overclock past 3.7 GHz but after putting these onto the MOSFETs I'm running at 4.1GHz at 1.42 vcore. They also dropped my motherboard temps by a few C

With the Epson Aculaser C1100 and Web2Page software, Web pages automatically adapt to fit your chosen paper size. The last thing you want is to wait for your printing to finish. The Epson AcuLaser C1100 has a first page out time of just 9 seconds and prints black and white documents faster than a mono-only laser printer with an impressive 25ppm. Furthermore, separate black and color toner cartridges ensure low operating costs and no waste. And because you can also print color when you need it, you only have one printer to run and no costly and time-consuming outsourcing to worry about.
