This is the 5th one. It replaces our last Epson LQ-870 that finally gave up. Compared to other brands, the ribbon life is great and the durability is super.

If you let your Ribbon get too old (as I do between orders) your lq590 will start to fault out in the middle of a document. however It sure is great saving money on ink using a impact printer with a wife who likes to print everything.

Used every day for years. It simply goes and goes. Outlasts other printers 10x. We replace the printhead every 2 years when it wears out.
