Epson PictureMate PM235 photo printer

Epson's PictureMate PM235 photo printer is a step down from the PictureMate PM270 in terms of portability and speed, but it retains good overall print...

Cute design, fairly easy to use, quick print speeds, good black and white photo print quality

Bluetooth connectivity costs extra, expensive consumables, inkjet technology means printhead cleaning and alignment required

Epson's PictureMate PM235 is diminutive and can print from a variety of memory cards and PictBridge devices. Unfortunately, print quality issues mar what is otherwise a decent option.

Epson PictureMate PM235 mini printer

The Epson PictureMate is a high-resolution, four-colour inkjet printer that can print photos in under 40 seconds.

Cost-effective; good print quality

No option for rechargeable battery

The PictureMate is also the same weight as the HP Officejet 100, a unit that is capable of printing photos and regular A4 business documents but the HP is over double the price.

Epson PictureMate PM 235

A good photo printer for people who travel a lot

Amazing quality photos, easy to use, portable, PC-less operation, very fast, battery option

Expensive, cost per print, no Bluetooth/Wi-Fi out-of-the-box, smallish LCD

Photos on the go: Epson PictureMate PM235

A white cube about the size of a six-pack, it's an inkjet model with a clever design. The top flips up to become the back of the paper feeder (it takes 4x6in, or 10x15cm, photo paper), and reveals a flip-up 2.5in LCD screen and a row of control buttons.

Small; well-made; pleasing results

No battery; over-saturated colours
