Epson Stylus DX4800

Epson breaks new ground with an all-in-one printer, scanner and copier for just over £80. But have too many compromises been made to keep the price down?

There's a good suite of easy-to-use software supplied with the Stylus DX4800. As well as a comprehensive printer driver, there are copies of the Epson Creativity Suite and Epson Scan, which includes basic OCR.

Good photo print quality, simple to use

Lacks a colour LCD screen and connect-to-PC USB cable, slow output on top quality photos

It might be a tad on the slow side but the combination of kit, the price and the 4800's size combine to make it a great machine. It's very easy to use and its ink's are not too expensive either. Photo output is more than adequate and is actually some...

Value for money all in one printer. Easy to set up and use. Ink cartridges reasonably priced.

Print quality could be better on photos.

Perfect for my needs in a small office

Miscalculated the speed - had hoped it would be a little faster in printing photographs but can live with it as I don't print that many.

Photocopier useful

VERY irritated by warning about use of non-Epson inks EVERY time I want to print a page! Turning this off results in loss of useful info re ink levels. I would not, therefore, buy another Epson with this message. Setting-up was not successful...
