Speaking of ink, most of the 13-inch Stylus Photo line uses pigment-based inks, which typically last longer than dye-based inks. However, Epson says that the dye-based Claria Hi-Definition inks used by the 1400 are rated to last as long as 98 years...

High-quality color photo printing; long-lived prints; CD- and DVD-label printing; many paper options.

Black-and-white prints not perfectly neutral; large footprint; no card reader.

Epson's new dye-based 13-inch printer has style and prints large photos, but its black-and-white prints are less than perfect.
