Workforce 40 Color Printer

Aimed at small-office users, the Epson WorkForce 40 color inkjet printer gets two things right: It achieves impressive speeds (at least, it did in some of our tests) and it's inexpensive to purchase. Unfortunately it gets many other things wrong--it...

Very fast text speed Connectivity includes Wi-Fi and ethernet

Subpar print quality; expensive inks Expensive inks

The Epson WorkForce 40's extreme print speeds are impressive. But for its small-office audience, the expensive ink, disappointing print quality, and design hassles make it a dubious choice

Epson WorkForce 40 Color Printer Printer Review

Very fast text speed ; Connectivity includes Wi-Fi and ethernet

Subpar print quality; expensive inks ; Expensive inks

The pricey inks produce fuzzy text and grainy prints--hardly a good deal for a small office.

You cannot print on 3-hole punched paper. REALLY!

I have not had the honor of refilling the print cartridges yet. So I cannot comment on the overall cost of running this unit. I will never know, because I am returning this POS on Monday. How can a printer manufacturer make a machine that "does not...

I like that this printer is shiny and new and black. I have found that it can print stuff on paper. If I am in the other room while printing, I can tell when it is done, because the house becomes so much quieter. I like when that happens. It's super

It doesn't support hole punched paper unless you load it backwards. No really. I'm serious! I use a Mac. The ink level popup window is more than mildly annoying. It's STUPID. How about allowing me to turn it off? Surely the technology exists. Idiots

NOT a good Epson Printer

This is my 4th or 5th Epson printer. I have always thought highly of the brand, its products and the ease of use of the printers. This printer, however, is the worst printer I have ever purchased.

Can't think of anything positive

Blows through ink like crazy. A real pain to print envelopes! Constantly jams and also does not like coated paper - even Epson brand

Ink Fraud as Company Policy

While the printer initially appears affordable, it requires four charged ink cartridges before the printer will work at all. Not long ago the yellow cartridge indicated empty and was replaced. Upon replacement, the other colors so would still work...

Affordable

Printer is designed to falsify remaining ink thus requiring costly replacement of still-useful cartridges

Fast inkjet printer, lousy networking

When testing this right after installation via direct USB connection, the print quality looked nice and I was impressed by the speed. Then the horrors began when I tried to print over the network. I tried two different printers of this model and had...

Fast printing, 4 different ink cartridges, light weight, low power consumption, nice slick black case

Flimsy paper feeder extension and output tray when extended. Two different printers had problems printing through a wired router saying that they had paper jam problems when there obviously weren't any jams
