Brother HL-2250DN review

The Brother HL-2250DN monochrome laser printer may not offer the cheapest running costs on the market, but it's competitively priced, doesn't take up much space, and produces good results at a decent speed.

Low price ; Duplex printing ; Ethernet support ; Good text quality

Graphics print quality could be better

Overall, the Brother HL-2250DN offers good value for money. It's cheap but offers enticing features, such as duplex printing and networking support. We also like the fact it's so compact.

Brother HL-2250DN

Brother has built duplex print and comparatively high speed into a small-footprint machine with a competitive price.

22ppm top test speed ; Small footprint ; Convenient special media feed

Banded greyscale fills ; Slow duplex print ; Dark greys can print black

Brother’s HL-2250DN is a very good little printer for the money. It’s quick and convenient to use and produces good quality text print. Greyscale graphics and photos aren't quite so good, but for general SOHO duties it should sit quietly in the corner...

Shared Printing with the Brother HL-2250DN : SHARED PRINTING WITH THE BROTHER HL-2250DN

With the HL-2250DN Brother has produced an entry level mono laser printer to meet the needs of a growing number of homes and small businesses who have a limited budget but need a networked printer to be shared between two or more computers.

This printer, which is priced at £127 + VAT, should be able to cope cost-effectively with virtually any mono printing requirement in the home or small office and, at the same time, will not appear out of place in either environment. Consequently, it...

Took only 10 minutes to set up - easy to read the manual and follow steps. Pages printed perfectly, super quick and auto duplex is magic... Connects to my modem and network, and it works like a charm. Definitely recommend it!!

Great Printer

Just received this printer so my review is based on that of someone who's only setup the printer and performed a few basic print tests. I will update this review once I've had a chance to use the printer some more. My first impressions are this is a...

Faulty after 6 months

Worked fine for 6 months but then print quality issues. Spent hours cleaning the drum, running diagnostics and talking to Brother but all to no avail. Brother would NOT come out to look at the problem and eventually asked me to send them the toner (at...

It's A Brother - so rarely a bad thing

This is without doubt a noisy printer, I'd expect the duplex to be noisy (as this requires a print & re-feed to be done), however it is just noisy, It doesn't bother me (in fact you can't miss that it'sprinted what you wanted!), but some may hate the...

Just what I needed

I do a lot of admin work for a football league and have been using my own printer which has lasted well but I needed something that would do things quicker and in duplex.

Toner ran low after first page printed ... and ran out soon after

I got a 'toner low' message when I printed the second page (!!!!!) on this printer, and now it is refusing to print after fewer than 100 sides. I think Brother are taking the mick. I think that one should be able to print more than a page before the...
