HP Business Inkjet 1200

Good print quality; fast text printing; simple, intuitive design; built-in duplexer; low operating costs for an inkjet.

This machine prints shockingly slow photos, but their quality is good at the highest settings.

This is a solid, low-cost option for small offices and workgroups that need budget color printing that's strictly business.

The HP Business Inkjet 1200d is fast enough to beat a slow color laser for text and graphics.

Extremely fast performance in default mode for business applications. High-quality output, particularly for text. Duplexer.

Slow for photos. Graphics in default mode show banding.

HP Business Inkjet 1200D Printer

 

The HP Business Inkjet 1200d is designed for small offices on a tight budget. At $200 it's much cheaper than a color laser, but it has businesslike styling, plus more paper-handling options--and a larger footprint--than most inkjets.

A high-volume office, not light-duty consumer, inkjet printer, with a highly cost-efficient design and low price even when loaded with options

If you want good quality, forget the fastest two of its four print modes; ink cartridges provided with printer are bait-and-switch starters

With a 32MB print buffer and rated speeds up to 28 pages per minute for black and white and 24 ppm for color, the Business Inkjet 1200 outruns low-priced, four-pass color lasers even after deducting for the usual advertised-inkjet-speeds exaggeration...
